Welcome to Plathville stars Olivia and Ethan Plath have split, and it may be because of a cheating betrayal by Olivia. Welcome to Plathville is airing its fifth season. Fans have been watching the Plath family since 2019. The Plaths began as a fundamentalist family under parents Barry and Kim Plath. Kim and Barry had ten children, but their son Joshua died. Over the last four years, the family has undergone a lot of changes before viewers’ eyes. Siblings Moriah and Micah have moved out, Kim and Barry broke up, Olivia fell out with the whole Plath family, and the remaining siblings have more freedom.

Olivia and Ethan and their estrangement from the rest of the Plath family has been a major storyline. So has Barry and Kim’s changing relationship with each other and the way they parent and guide their children. Each of the Plath kids has also stepped into the spotlight and showcased their different personalities and views on the world. Eldest sister, Hosanna, is not a part of the show, but Olivia’s brother and sister have emerged as cast members.

Olivia Was Always Unhappy With Ethan

Olivia has always been known to be vocal, which transfers over to her feelings towards her now ex, Ethan. This season, Olivia has voiced her concern with Ethan’s life trajectory and outlook. She doesn’t think their values and goals align, and their disconnection has caused the pair a lot of unhappiness. Olivia and Ethan have even been so unhappy with each other that they’ve separated in the past. If Olivia did cheat on Ethan, her unhappiness in the marriage to Ethan may have been something that drove her to be with another person.

Ethan liked to get away from the fights he thought Olivia would cause by going to work on his cars. He would not handle confrontation well, and Olivia didn’t seem to know when to relent or make compromises for his sake. Olivia was frustrated by Ethan, and he was frustrated by her. They were mutually unhappy, but it has always seemed like Olivia continuously found things she didn’t like about Ethan or was bothered by things he did. Instead of trying to understand her husband, Olivia always pointed out the negatives or things that weren’t up to her standards. And she had no patience to see any change take place.

Olivia Has A More Carefree Approach To Life

Olivia has a worldview that is clearly more carefree and laid back than Ethan’s. She has gotten Ethan outside his comfort zone as far as getting out of Cairo and seeing more of the world. Ethan seemed to enjoy the vacations, but he also expressed his desire to stick to what he knows. Olivia’s airy approach to life does not align with Ethan’s more rigid characteristics and outlooks, and that may have added fuel to the fire and driven Olivia away to someone she’s more compatible with.

Olivia Hated Ethan’s Parents And Doesn’t Get Along With Ethan’s Family

The major divider in Olivia and Ethan’s relationship has always been Olivia’s hatred of Barry and Kim and her issues with the rest of the family. Whenever Ethan urged Olivia to attempt to mend the fences, Olivia resisted, and it drove a wedge into their relationship because Ethan wanted to connect with his family. Olivia had disdain for Barry and Kim’s ideologies and was unwilling to discover how they changed since she met them. Olivia seemed firm to dwell on the past and did not allow space to entertain a future with the Plath family.

Moreover, Olivia had fallingouts with Moriah and Micah, who were once her best friends. The messiness of Olivia’s situation with Ethan’s family members proved to cause a strain on her marriage. The anger and hurt she felt she believed was caused by Ethan’s parents and family. Whether that pain caused Olivia to betray Ethan allegedly is unclear. However, Olivia and her attitude contributed greatly to the wall she put up against the Plaths.

Micah Suggested She Cheated

Micah recently went on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. He was grilled about the many things related to the show, but the most interesting thing that happened occurred when Andy asked Micah about the rumors going around that Ethan cheated on Olivia. Micah responded by saying, “I would honestly say it would most likely be the other way around.” In his statement, Micah insinuated Olivia was a cheater, which is a contradiction to the previous rumors going around accusing Ethan of committing infidelity.

In Micah’s eyes, Olivia has tried to come after his family members, and he has said that he is there to protect the ones he loves. He thinks that Olivia’s way of thinking is toxic and can’t get out of her own way. That said, Micah could have launched the Olivia cheating allegations out of spite or in an effort to defend his brother. What Micah achieved in his claims was to cause speculation that Olivia has been shady.

Olivia Got Married Too Young

Olivia and Ethan married when they were just 18, after a short period of dating. They were married for five years until their mutual divorce news. The pair experienced a lot of firsts together and grew up together in many ways. While trying to figure themselves out, it became apparent that they were growing in different directions. Olivia has mentioned only being twenty-four and wanting to have different experiences in life, whereas Ethan seems more in tune with settling down. Olivia’s desire to have more experiences could include having other relationships.

At this point, it is just an insinuation made by Micah that Olivia had cheated in her marriage to Ethan. Whether that assertion was made out of spite, defense, or conjecture is unclear. However, Olivia and Ethan’s incompatibilities are vast, and it is possible that Olivia cheated, but official word from either Olivia or Ethan on that subject has not been made. Whether Ethan and Olivia’s disparities are what potentially drove Olivia to a possible betrayal or whether resentment was a cause, fans have yet to find out. In any case, the drama on Welcome to Plathville keeps getting thicker, and it’s hard to tell where the hit reality show will go from here.
