Kendra Caldwell’s Parents Called Cops On Joseph Duggar, Confirmed

Recently, a person who is close to Joseph Duggar’s wife’s family, the Caldwells, blew up the family’s “secret.” The woman is Amy Paul, she is known to be very aggressive with her words and actions against alleged child molesters. She put her son-in-law, Carver Bowers, behind bars in 2025. She is now on a mission to put Joseph Duggar away as well. She started by outing the victim and the family, saying it was Kendra’s family and a family member. Amy Paul is being called a fame seeker rather than a justice seeker after the way she outed the underage victim and family.

Amy Paul Goes On Rampage Over Jim Bob and Michelle

On Monday, April 13, Paul used Instagram to make a long list of accusations against Joseph and his family. She said, among other things, that the Caldwells were being forced out of their home and that Joseph was trying to convert his wife against her parents. The Caldwell family friend also said that the Caldwells had called the police in March to report Joseph for child molestation against one of their children, who was 9 at the time; she is now 14. Amy Paul said that after Joseph’s arrest, all she could feel toward the Duggars was “disgust and disbelief.”

“Not only were they put in the awful situation of turning their son-in-law into the police because he wasn’t man enough to take accountability himself, but he’s also kicking them out of their house and giving them 30days to get out! The power and the water was turned off with 8 other kids living in the house!” A Duggar insider who was there at that time rebutted the statement about being kicked out and shutting off electricity.

“The Caldwells share 4grandkids with Jimbob and Michelle. This is not the time to be throwing stones but it’s the time to rally around and support the victim and their family and Joe Duggar is 100% not the victim. Pray for their daughter, “Kendra to choose her kids and leave the (alleged) pedophile and have a relationship with her family. I am one year in to this same scenario(almost) and all I knew to do was love on Christina and her precious family.” she continued on saying:

“Do the right thing and HELP your extended family from the abuse and trauma your son has caused. Your piddly statement wasn’t enough. Where are the actions?! Even if you don’t “like” someone, the truth is you raised a son and he touched a prepubescent child and you are choosing to poison the daughter against her family.”

“Encourage Kendra to divorce Joe, focus on her kids and give her half the money, real estate etc. Don’t make her dependent on you, JimBob…like she’s not a grown woman! Don’t make her another Anna. Her family is there waiting with open arms! I thought I wouldn’t post, hopefully this was tampered down enough. If I posted what I really want I’d prob be arrested.  She ended her rant with two crocodiles.

The Duggars’ Side of the Caldwell Feud

A source close to the family told Us Weekly that Paul was wrong to frame the matter this way, saying that the Duggars have been “very good to the Caldwells” throughout the years.

The insider stated, “The Caldwells lived in a Duggar home rent-free for years—years more than they were offered, really taking advantage of their kindness.” “After this, they moved into the house that Joe and Kendra built to sell. But they didn’t pay rent for more than two years, even though Joe and Kendra told them to leave. All of this happened after they were instructed to leave.

The source said, “What Joe is accused of is horrible and should be properly judged,” but that doesn’t make the Caldwells “victims.”

The insider said, “The Caldwells got close to the spotlight, took advantage of the kindness, and got mad when they were told to do the right thing.” he said, “All of a sudden, their daughter is treating them badly.” It is implied that since they were asked to leave because they wore out their free rent welcome, the secret was exposed.

Kendra Caldwell’s Parents Break Their Silence

The Caldwells said in a statement on Wednesday, April 15, “Our family is both troubled and heartbroken over the alleged actions committed by our son-in-law. We are devastated for the young girl, a child who was courageous in every way to share her truth. We stand by her, both in support and prayer, and forever will.”

“We pray all victims of crimes can be as courageous as this young girl is. They should be able to share their story, to trust in the judicial process, and to do so without fear of retaliation. You are not alone.”

The Caldwells started a GoFundMe page, first asking for legal fees, then changing it because GoFundMe rules do not allow raised money to go to legal fees. They later changed it to helping them move after being displaced from the Duggar home they lived in. Their target was 25k; they reached it. The goal was then moved to 30k; they reached that. As of this publishing, the goal has been set at 35k.

Joseph and Kendra Caldwell Duggar face Charges Together

In March, Joseph was arrested and then sent from Arkansas to Florida on charges of lewd and lascivious behavior involving molesting a victim who was less than 12 years old and lewd and lascivious behavior by someone who was 18 years old or older. He is accused of sexually abusing a 9-year-old girl while on vacation in Panama City Beach in 2020. Joseph has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Kendra and Joseph were also detained in Arkansas and charged with false imprisonment and putting a child’s welfare at risk. When authorities arrested Joseph, they also noticed locks on the outside of the children’s room doors, calling it false imprisonment and also endangering the kids in case there was a fire or emergency, they would be unable to escape. These criminal accusations have nothing to do with Joseph’s case of child molestation.
