90 Day Fiancé: Deavan Clegg and Jihoon Lee Overjoyed As Son Taeyang Finally Beats Cancer After Long Battle!

Deavan Clegg and Jihoon Lee got the news their son, Taeyang, had cancer after featuring in 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 2, but he is now cancer-free. Deavan, who was already a mother of one, first met Jihoon on an international dating site. Despite the language barrier, the couple quickly fell in love during their long-distance relationship. They met in person when Jihoon briefly visited America to meet Deavan. They stayed at a love hotel and conceived their son during their first intimate encounter. On April 11, 2019, Deavan and Jihoon welcomed their son, Taeyang Scuti Lee Clegg.

During 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 2, Deavan relocated to South Korea with her daughter, Drascilla, from a previous relationship, and her son Taeyang. She had hoped to start a family with Jihoon, but he wasn’t prepared to fulfill his responsibilities as a father and husband. Their constant fights about financial hardships pushed Deavan to her breaking point, leading her to return to Utah and eventually divorce Jihoon. Deavan’s mother, Elicia Clegg, has mentioned Jihoon is welcome to visit America to see his son whenever he wishes, but he has yet to do so.

A few years after the conclusion of Deavan and Jihoon’s story on the show, she shared heartbreaking news about their son’s health. In May 2022, the 90 Day Fiancé franchise alum shared with her followers that Taeyang, then 3 years old, had been diagnosed with B-cell acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Despite Deavan being portrayed as a villain on the show, fans rallied around Taeyang with their support. Following several difficult moments and visits to the hospital, Deavan joyfully announced in August 2024 that Taeyang had beaten cancer.

Deavan said, “Taeyang’s resilience and bravery have been truly inspiring.”
