NEED TO KNOW

Catie Norboe and Josh Atkinson don’t seem to be seeing eye-to-eye.

In PEOPLE’s exclusive clip from an all-new episode of 90 Day Fiancé airing on Sunday, June 14, Catie and Josh argue over what home furniture they deem essential, which reveals different priorities in their spending habits.

When Catie and Josh are having dinner, on the floor of their apartment, things get tense as Josh mentions he made a list of essentials he thinks they should buy for their new place. “What kind of list do you have?” Catie asks, seemingly hesitant to hear his suggestions.

“These are just suggestions,” Josh notes, before suggesting they buy an iron and an ironing board. To which Catie begs the question, “Why?”

“Um, I like to iron my clothes,” he says. When Catie doesn’t respond, he continues to go down the list, saying, “Dining table and chairs are fairly important, I think.”

“I don’t think they’re super important,” Catie interjects. “Okay. Do you enjoy this?” Josh asks, gesturing to their current situation of eating dinner atop a yoga mat in the kitchen of their apartment. “It’s comfy,” Catie says cheerfully, which prompts Josh to say, “This hurts my back. It feels a bit feral.”

“Have we ever sat on the dining table and chairs? We usually sit on the couch,” Catie replies. “Okay, well, it’s something I would like,” Josh responds before Catie calls his want “stupid.”

This prompts Josh to confront Catie about how she feels about his spending habits. “I don’t like how you think about me with money, as though I’m just blindly trying to spend as much money as I can without thinking about it. That’s not true,” he explains. “I feel like you’re treating me like I’m a bit stupid.”

In his confessional, Josh explains how growing up in the United Kingdom, conversations about money were different from those in the United States. “I’ve grown up knowing that if I break my arm, I can get it fixed, and then I can go home,” he says. “There’s a safety net there. It’s very different in the States.”

“I respect Catie’s attitude toward money because when it’s gone, you can get f—ed pretty quickly,” Josh adds. “But I also don’t like to be micromanaged.”

The clip cuts to Josh and Catie driving to the store on a mission to get apartment essentials. “I don’t want to end today without something to sit on,” he tells Catie. To which she responds, “Like, for real?”

“Yeah, for real,” Josh asserts. “Because my back is really painful.” Catie replies, “Okay, I just don’t think we can make that happen today.”

“It needs to happen because my back is very painful,” he says. Catie then mentions that one of her friends offered them free furniture, “We should get that first.”

“Okay, but we also need to get on with life. So, it’s not here right now,” he says. “We’ve literally had like two seconds,” Catie responds.

“I just feel you’re being a bit over the top about trying to save so much money before we even started,” Josh confesses, prompting Catie to reveal her honest thoughts.

“I guess I just don’t trust you yet with money and financial stuff because of the poor decisions I’ve seen you make in the past,” she admits.

“No, not poor decisions, just things you disagree with,” Josh notes.

90 Day Fiancé airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on TLC.
