What Is Guillermo Rojer’s Job in the U.S.? What the ‘90 Day Fiance’ Star Does for a Living

Guillermo Rojer and Kara Bass first appeared on 90 Day Fiancé season 9 and the native Venezuelan quickly charmed fans with his sweet personality. Since their 2022 debut in TLC’s 90 Day universe, the pair have welcomed a baby and made their return to the show on season 6 of 90 Day Diaries.

In Touch takes a look into Guillermo’s job and work history since his move from the Dominican Republic to the United States.

When Did Guillermo Rojer Move to the United States?

Kara and Guillermo met while she was in the Dominican Republic on a work trip in 2019. Although Guillermo is originally from Venezuela, he had been living and working at the popular getaway destination as a bartender at the time. Following roughly two years of dating, Guillermo moved to the United States on a K-1 fiancé visa and the pair said “I do” in July 2021.

They bought a $475,000 three-bedroom, two-bathroom home in Charlotteville, Virginia, in 2023, according to a deed obtained by In Touch.

What Does ‘90 Day Fiance’ Star Guillermo Rojer Do for a Living?

Kara revealed Guillermo worked in “sales” and “hospitality” in a November 2022 social media update. In the second episode of 90 Day Diaries season 6, she specified that he was a manager at a hotel.

However, Guillermo confessed his job and other responsibilities had already begun to cause strain in their relationship.

“I’m very happy to be working and actually very happy to be contributing financially to my family,” he explained in a confessional. “But having a demanding job, a 1-year-old and a relationship, it’s definitely been a huge roller-coaster and I’m not proud of this, but sometimes I bring the work stress home. So I need to change.”

Did ’90 Day Fiance’ Star Guillermo Rojer Quit His Job?

Guillermo admitted in 90 Day Diaries that he put in his two weeks’ notice at his job at the hotel without telling his wife because he had dreams of one day becoming a pilot.

“I’m furious because he is one of the two people contributing to our household and the only one that has given our family insurance,” Kara explained in the show. “And so for him to make this decision without consulting his wife or at least talking about it, it is shocking.”

They later discovered that Guillermo’s education and training at a local pilot school would cost between $40,000 and $50,000.

“I’m so not convinced that this is the right career path for Guillermo,” Kara said. “I’m worried about the money and I’m worried about the time away from our family. But he’s my husband and I love him, and I feel like I don’t have any choice but to support him.”

Are Guillermo Rojer and Kara Bass Still Married?

Rumors swirled that Guillermo and Kara had secretly split in early 2024 when he returned alone to his home country of Venezuela, leaving both his wife and their son, Nicolas Antonio, behind in the U.S. Kara clarified on social media in January 2024 that he had been going to visit family and hinted that visa problems made it difficult for her and the baby to join him.

“I’ll miss [him] so much but I couldn’t be more excited for him,” she captioned a video of the day she took him to the airport. “7 years without his country and family is a long time. Cuídate mi amor @guillermorojer enjoy Venezuela.”

Following his trip, speculation on the status of their relationship continued due to Kara’s lack of presence on his Instagram, despite the fact that Guillermo regularly shares photos of himself and his son spending time together in Virginia.

Despite the rumors, In Touch confirmed via online records that Kara and Guillermo have not filed for divorce as of April 14, 2025.
