90 Day Fiancé’s Angela Deem has become somewhat of a controversial figure on the TLC series. Her journey with Nigerian man, Michael Ilesanmi, has become nothing but tumultuous. Fans have even urged the network to remove Angela because of her violent and disturbing actions towards her husband, whom she is seeking an annulment.
However, there has been more drama surrounding the Deem family that has since come to light. Angela’s daughter, Sklya Deem, and her grandchildren are usually seen on the series, but her other daughter, Scottie Deem, is not. Though she was present in earlier seasons with her mother, shocking news came to light about Scottie that saw her thrown off the show and put behind bars. She hasn’t really been heard from since.
Angela Deem’s Daughter Scottie Was Sentenced To Prison For A Horrible Crime
Angela Deem’s behavior towards her husband, Michael Ilesanmi has been bothering fans of the show for quite some time. However, as their journey as a married couple living in the U.S. continues to play out, it seems that the network really wants as much drama as they can get.
However, the network has not made any mention of Angela’s daughter, Scottie Deem, who had also been in the spotlight for a very different reason. The reason for this is that Scottie was involved in a disturbing crime involving a minor.
As People reported, Scottie was arrested in 2017 “on suspicion of aggravated child molestation and aggravated sodomy.” The suspected victim was a minor under the age of 16 and the crimes were allegedly committed with other minors present.
According to Starcasm, the following year, Scottie was indicted on 13 counts of child molestation that occurred between July 1st and August 31st. In 2019, she was sentenced to three consecutive 20-year prison sentences after pleading guilty to three counts of child molestation. It was later learned that Scottie would only serve two years and one day, and would serve the rest of her sentence on probation.

Scottie was released in May 2020 after only serving 15 months for her crimes. It is allegedly believed that she was released early due to overcrowding. Her parole was also short-lived as Starcasm reported that her “Parole End Date” was January 31, 2021. Scottie has been added to the Georgia sex offenders list.
Despite the tremendous crimes committed by Angela’s daughter, 90 Day Fiancé did not mention or show any part of it. Instead, it continued to showcase Angela and Michael’s volatile relationship.
Scottie Has Been On Reality TV
Before Scottie Deem faced these serious charges and spent time in prison, she made an appearance on reality TV. Scottie and her mother, Angela, were seen on an episode of The Maury Show. The show mainly focused on women who wanted men to own up to their paternity. Maury would famously pull out an envelope that had the results of that paternity test.
Scottie appeared on the show to let her mother know that the father of her daughter was a man named Terry, her current boyfriend. However, Angela believed that Scottie was lying and had hooked up with her ex, Chris, right before she announced her pregnancy.
Maury read the results, and it was revealed that Terry was the father and Angela was wrong.
Angela and Scottie’s relationship and their storyline must have made for good television, because the pair were brought back to The Maury Show. Scottie had given birth to her second child, and again, her mother questioned if Terry was the real father.
Where Is Scottie Deem Now?
90 Day Fiancé fans learned that Scottie was released from prison after she had posted on her Instagram. As Screen Rant reported, Scottie shared a photo in support for Black Lives Matter, but it had since been deleted.
After a thorough search on the web, it appears that Scottie does not have an Instagram account. Scottie does not appear on her sister, Skyla’s Instagram account, and there are no photos of her on Angela’s profile.
The Hollywood Gossip reported that Angela took custody of Scottie’s three children before she was sent to prison. Sklya, who also has three children, lives with her mother as well. Although Scottie’s parole ended, it’s unclear how the courts are allowing her to see her children. The outlet did report that Scottie was seen at her mother’s home during the Fourth of July in 2021.
Scottie appears to be lying low since committing her heinous crimes.
