‘Welcome to Plathville’: Moriah Plath Reveals She Wants to Be Baptized — Watch the Emotional Moment (Exclusive)

'I never thought that I'd be crawling back on my hands and knees,' Moriah told her dad, Barry, of her decision in an exclusive clip from Tuesday's episode

Welcome to Plathville star Moriah Plath has hit her “rock bottom” amid the ongoing drama in her family — resulting in a big life decision.

In an exclusive clip of Tuesday’s episode, Moriah reveals to her dad, Barry Plath, on the TLC series that she wants to be baptized — a decision that comes as a shock after her years of rebellion.

“I’ve tried to do this alone for years, and there’s no way I’m going to be able to get through this without Jesus,” Moriah says in the clip.

“Yeah, you can’t walk it alone,” Barry responds. “He wants to walk with you, right?”

In a confessional, Moriah admits she was baptized when she younger, but didn’t know the full meaning behind the act.

“I was baptized when I was younger, like 8 or so,” she says. “My sisters were getting baptized, and I wanted to get in the pool too. Just looked fun. So I got baptized, and I just didn’t understand. It wasn’t a choice that I really made for myself. It was just because that’s what everybody was doing. That’s all I knew. And God never felt real in my life until I hit rock bottom. Until I realized I can’t do it alone.”

Speaking to her dad, Moriah admits she’s just as shocked as he is.

“I just can’t believe this,” she says. “Like, I never thought that I’d be crawling back on my hands and knees. Like, ‘Jesus, I need you.’ But I was so proud and just thought I could do it all on my end.”

“Early on, you know, we just raised our children, you know, to love God,” Barry says in a confessional. “But you know, they chose their own path. And for a short time they did their own thing. But now with Mariah, she’s back. She’s back with God. So it’s awesome to see.”

During last week’s season premiere, Moriah — who abruptly moved out of Ethan and Olivia Plath’s house due to the bad blood between her and her brother and sister-in-law — had a candid conversation with her mom, Kim Plath, and dad about the ongoing family strife.

“I have had to choose. And I choose my family,” said Moriah, whose fallout with Ethan and Olivia was documented last season.

During Season 4, Olivia accused Kim of stealing and using Ethan’s credit card. However, Moriah and her siblings Micah, Lydia and Isaac addressed the accusations in a public statement on social media, claiming Olivia was not sharing “the full story.”

“We as a family have decided to not be divided anymore,” their statement read. “There is a lot more to the story than what you all have seen on the show.”

“While we understand that this is a TV show and we are not in control how the show is edited, we are actually a family that is full of love and respect for each other,” the siblings continued.

“That being said, we as a family are not going to sit back and watch as our family is driven apart,” the statement concluded.

Welcome to Plathville airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET on TLC.
