Welcome to Plathville Season 5 spouses Ethan Plath and Olivia Plath‘s marital problems continue to mount. Even after moving to Minnesota, the two find it may not be enough change to save their troubled marriage. They are growing and becoming different people, and it is becoming a huge issue.
Welcome to Plathville: Ethan Plath’s Reckless Side Scares Olivia Plath
Going into her marriage with Welcome to Plathville star Ethan Plath, Olivia Plath said she knew he had a lot of growing up to do. She understood that he had lived a sheltered life. She was eager to show him a different lifestyle.
Ethan has shown on the reality series that he can sometimes be playful and somewhat immature. At first, it was one of the things she found endearing about him. But now she finds it is becoming more and more annoying with time.
Ethan took his playful and daring side too far for his wife’s liking. During one of their first major snowstorms in Minnesota, they decided to go sledding. However, in the parking lot, his reckless side took over. For example, he starts to have a little fun. He begins doing donuts and sliding on the frozen pavement. But she dislikes every moment.
Olivia looks terrified and asks her Welcome to Plathville, husband to stop. He felt pretty mischievous and was having too much fun listening to her warnings to stop. This becomes a massive issue for the couple. Olivia is angry and scared. She explains that she has been in several car accidents over the years. For that reason, his reckless driving triggers her.
Olivia Is Hurt by Her Husband’s Disrespect
Ethan Plath feels Olivia Plath is overreacting. But this only makes things worse between them. He thinks she is making too big a deal out of the situation. Of course, this only upsets her more. She tells him that by ignoring her feelings, she feels disrespected. Next, she accuses her partner of gaslighting her, and he calls her over-sensitive.

Olivia of Welcome to Plathville looks annoyed. Most importantly, she senses the conversation is going nowhere. So, instead of continuing, she tells him she no longer wants to talk about it. It is clear to TLC viewers that the couple are at a standstill. They both see things very differently. Because they each have their own opinion, it causes more disagreements. But this time, he stands up to his wife, nor does he plan to change it.
Welcome to Plathville: Ethan Grows Tired of Trying?
Season 5 is at the midpoint, and TLC revealed a preview clip for the second half of the season. The clip shows the drama is just starting for the Plath family. Many more changes are coming for each of them. Yet, it looks like Ethan and Olivia’s marriage remains in jeopardy. The sneak peek video also shows that he may be growing tired of trying to comply with his wife’s needs.

A massive argument will break out later in the season. In the meantime, both partners accuse the other of changing. During her confessional, she mentions that Ethan is at a bar with someone else. She looks upset and says she feels disrespected again. To sum it up, she says this is not the type of marriage she wants. Because of his actions, she implies things may be nearing the end for them.
Ethan is seen in the clip returning home to visit his family. He wants to tie up a few loose ends with his parents and his sister Moriah Plath, which concerns his wife. Towards the end of the preview video, it looks like Ethan Plath of Welcome to Plathville may start to see Olivia Plath in a different light.
