Sister Wives- Why “Monogamous” Robyn Needs To Face Reality (Kody’s Going To Find Another Wife)
Sister Wives- Why "Monogamous" Robyn Needs To Face Reality (Kody's Going To Find Another Wife)
Robyn Brown should brace herself. If Kody does take a new wife, it could be a very wild ride. Is she really prepared for what might happen?
Sister Wives is all about polygamy, and Robyn Brown’s breaking the mold by asking Kody Brown for a monogamous relationship, but her expectations may be unrealistic. Robyn’s maturing, and Kody’s a famous older man. Quite often, this dynamic spells trouble. Many well-known men have decided to opt out of marriages with older women. They prefer to spend time with younger females. Kody could do this to Robyn, 44, within the framework of a plural marriage. He might bring in a new wife. While Kody’s religious, he’s not as religious as he used to be. However, he may use religion as an excuse to bring a younger female into the family.
By hiding behind religion, Kody, 54, could get together with a younger woman, minus the usual guilt. Of course, he might still be a true believer who embraces the rules of his sect (an offshoot of Mormonism). He follows rules that most Mormons don’t, and plural marriage’s encouraged. Men in the sect believe that there will be an eternal reward for marrying a lot of women and breeding with them. Now, Kody’s alone with Robyn, he’s middle-aged, and he may be looking for some excitement, which a new and young wife could provide. Where does that leave Robyn?
Robyn Brown May Be Worried
The truth is that Kody’s said stuff about polygamy that isn’t positive. Over the years, he’s gotten more bitter about plural marriage, just like his former wives have. So, Robyn may worry that he wants to bring in a new wife for the wrong reasons. She may suspect that he’s thinking about finding someone younger than her, and passing off that act as an expression of his faith.
Robyn may burst into tears a lot, but she’s able to think quite clearly when it really matters. She seems to be girding her loins, preparing for battle. She’s telling Kody what she wants, trying to stop him from taking action. If they’re doing well as a couple, why would she feel compelled to be so vocal about wanting monogamy? That doesn’t really make sense, and seems to point to hidden tensions between the two.
If another woman enters the marriage, making it plural, Robyn might not feel so brave. At the moment, she has Kody right where she wants him. However, the dynamic could easily shift. If a new wife comes in, Robyn could lose so much of what she has. It’s not just about losing love. It’s ultimately about power.
Robyn’s “the” wife right now. She’s second to no one. In a sense, she’s defeated three other wives, if a plural marriage could be likened to a competition, such as a roller derby. Robyn came out ahead, and the other wives fell behind or hit the boards. Sure, they chose to leave, but why? Because of her.
Will Kody Put His Own Needs First?
It remains to be seen if Robyn will get a taste of her own medicine. Also, Sister Wives is surely a cash cow, and Kody is money-minded. There’s zero chance that he hasn’t thought about the financial ramifications of “going monogamous.” In other words, even if he legitimately just wants to be with Robyn, his fear of toppling the franchise may push him to go courting.
There are actually good reasons why Kody might take another wife. Therefore, Robyn has valid reasons for worrying. Clearly, she is worried, or she wouldn’t tell the world that Sister Wives patriarch Kody taking another spouse would be disrespectful to her. She’s obviously willing to take a financial hit for the sake of her marriage, but how will Kody feel about that? Will he kill the golden goose for Robyn? Also, can he be happy with only her for the rest of his life, after decades of plural marriage? These are good questions that only time will answer.
