Sister Wives Star Reveals Friend’s Cancer Diagnosis
A star from TLC’s “Sister Wives” has shared some difficult news: her close friend has been diagnosed with a ‘rare and aggressive’ form of cancer. The reality star has opened up about the ‘painful’ recovery process, prompting an outpouring of prayers and support from fans.
“Sister Wives” chronicles the life of Kody Brown and his polygamist family. For years, this included his current wife Robyn, and his former wives Meri, Janelle, and Christine. The show has captured the complexities and challenges of their unconventional family dynamic.
Meri, 54, who divorced Kody in 2014, recently took to social media to share an important update about her friend, Jenn Sullivan, who has also appeared on the show.
In a recent Instagram post, Meri shared a photo with Jenn, both sporting matching red hoodies. Meri’s hoodie read, “Never gonna b**** …”, while Jenn’s completed the phrase with, “… The B****”. Jenn captioned the album: “B****craft: The art of p****** people off while smiling sweetly.” The lighthearted post came alongside a more serious revelation.
Jenn revealed that her partner, Shawn, has been diagnosed with a ‘rare and aggressive cancer.’ In a heartfelt Instagram post, she shared a poignant selfie alongside a detailed account of Shawn’s treatment and its impact on their lives.
“This photo was taken on our 19th anniversary – just before Shawn began treatment for Sarcoma, a rare and aggressive cancer,” Jenn wrote.
She continued, “Since February, he’s undergone five weeks of radiation and two major surgeries, including the removal of a third tumor that had grown unnoticed just outside the radiation area.”
Jenn described the difficult journey, saying, “Shawn’s recovery has been long & painful, but he’s slowly gaining strength & getting back to the shop when he can & we appreciate your patience with our adjusted hours.”
The couple chose to keep the news private initially, explaining, “We’ve kept this close so our kids could finish the school year without added worry. But we have told them, have helped them to feel confident that we are on a good path, & have decided to now share it with you too & say thank you.”
Jenn expressed immense gratitude for the support they’ve received: “The texts, check-ins, prayers, & acts of kindness have carried us. To those who’ve supported our kids without them even knowing why – we will forever be grateful.”
Looking ahead, Jenn shared a message of hope and awareness: “July is Sarcoma Awareness Month, and while this road was unexpected, we’re staying hopeful, grateful, and committed to catching any potential recurrence early, & we pray the worst is behind us.”
She concluded her post with a heartfelt thank you: “Thank you for loving & supporting us through it. We feel it every single day. Shawn & Jenn,” accompanied by a yellow heart emoji.
Meri Brown has been a pillar of support for her friend, standing by her side during this challenging time.
