Sister Wives’ Robyn Brown Reveals She’d ‘Be Interested’ in Plural Marriage Again on 1 Condition

Sister Wives star Robyn Brown hasn’t completely given up on the idea of a plural marriage.

The TLC personality, 46, explained what would make her want to try another plural marriage with husband Kody Brown during the latest episode of their reality series on Sunday, December 29.

“If I had a guarantee that it would be something that would be beneficial and we would have a positive successful experience, I would be interested in living plural marriage again,” Robyn explained. “But I would need some sort of guarantee just because this experience of the family falling apart has been so traumatic, and not just for me and not just for Kody, but for our children and for all the children.”

Robyn is Kody’s last remaining wife after Meri BrownJanelle Brown and Christine Brown separated from the family patriarch.

The reality star, who was previously married to David Jessop from 1999 to 2007, added that she would also need to once again be an active member of her church, Apostolic United Brethren, in order for another plural marriage to work.

“I wouldn’t ever live it again without being a part of our church, like very active in our church,” she continued. “I just don’t see how one works without the other.”

However, Robyn, who legally married Kody in 2014, admitted that she didn’t see Kody being interested in trying out the plural lifestyle again.

“I don’t think that Kody would ever live plural marriage again,” she said. “I don’t know for sure.”

Robyn also opened up about how Janelle, 55, Meri, 53, and Christine, 52, leaving their marriages to Kody, 55, has affected her. “[It] has challenged my identity about, like, I am a plural wife and this is what I believe and this is our family,” the mom of five said.

Robyn continued, “That was such a big piece of who I am. Never pictured myself as a monogamist. Never thought it’d be just Kody and I. I feel like this piece of me just got ripped away and now I’m just not quite sure what to do with what’s left.”

Kody confirmed during the December 1 episode of Sister Wives that he was only interested in monogamy after his splits from his exes.

“I would never want to do polygamy again,” he said. “Polygamy kills emotional intimacy. It makes everybody defensive, and I really want an emotionally vulnerable, intimate relationship with a woman, and you’re not going to get that in polygamy.”

Elsewhere in the December 29 episode, Robyn defended herself against Christine’s theory that she planted the idea for Meri and Kody to get legally divorced in 2014, allowing Kody to marry Robyn instead.

“When Robyn first came into the family, she started talking to us about these other families where the first wife divorced the husband so he could marry the second wife legally and legally adopt the kids,” Christine explained.

Robyn insisted that this was an “absolute lie,” adding, “I never said it. I don’t even know anyone who divorced their first wife so that the second wife could adopt kids. I’ve never even heard of that before. Meri told me when she made the offer that when we were getting to know each other, she had had the idea in her head to offer to give me the legal marriage so that Kody could adopt my kids.”

Robyn also claimed that she “never even wanted to be legally married to Kody.”

“I was actually really grateful that I wasn’t going to be legally married to Kody because I’d gone through so much trauma with my legal divorce in my last marriage,” she added. “I was very happy and content with my spiritual marriage. I didn’t need anything else.”
