Sister Wives: Roby Brown Forgets To Cry In Season 19 Of Sister Wives?

For decades, TLC fans who watch Sister Wives saw that Robyn Brown cried a lot. But suddenly, in Season 19, it seems she forgot how to do it. Naturally, viewers wonder what happened. Did she see that she’s mocked for fake tears on social media? Or, is it just that she doesn’t need to weaponize her tears anymore? Read on to find out what fans think.

No Fake Tears?

Over the years, “Sobbyn Robyn” cried so much that she earned that nickname. In fact, for multiple seasons, viewers of the show became used to Robyn Brown dabbing at her eyes, but they seldom saw an actual tear run down her face.

She seemed to become an expert at quivering her voice with emotion. Notably, her displays became as much a staple of the show as Kody’s frowny face. Long ago, TLC fans decided that Robyn’s fake tears were a tool to pretend distress.

Of course, when she did that in front of Kody Brown, he often became very angry, and it was always aimed at one of the other wives. However, there were fewer tearful scenes in Season 19, apart from Robyn’s daughters, who seem to have perfected the art of crying on cue. But sticking with Robyn, she seemed remarkably dry-eyed during the One-On-One Tell-All.

Floodgates Are Closed?

The cameras always picked up the jellied lips, the chin quiver, and the dramatic hand to the face with Robyn. But recently, Robyn sat remarkably still. She was, as one keen observer noted, “stone-faced.”

TLC fans found it uncharacteristic to see a non-weepy face. So, it sparked a lot of discussion on social media. On Reddit, Master-Dimension-452 said:

I thought it was odd Robyn didn’t weep once. For 19 seasons, she hasn’t been able to control her emotions, and now she sits on the couch, stone faced. I did not see even one sign of tears. No tissues, no red eyes, no dabbing of her eyes, etc.

Naturally, that made folks think about how her emotional displays might have been carefully orchestrated all along. Had she, in fact, always possessed the ability to pretend to “cry on cue,” thereby using her tears to influence Kody or manipulate the other wives?

Fans Discuss Tearless 4th Wife

Emotions ran high during the latest Tell-All, and it would have been a perfect time for the tears to arrive. But, they didn’t come. If anything, Robyn seemed more composed than ever, if a bit remote. In fact, it came across as though she’d simply flipped a switch and instead of crying, revealed a side of her that was starkly different.

One fan wrote, “I do not think Robyn ever had tears she just wiped her face to make it look that way. Maybe in the beginning she could produce tears but further on nope no tears.”

• It would always annoy me how, when her actions hurt someone else Robyn would start to cry and say how it hurt her that they were hurt.
• And her stupid crying voice with not a tear in sight.
• A classic narcissistic strategy!

It’s all very well to reminisce over previous tearful scenes. But if she decided to cut the crying act, why would she do that? Well, the general belief seems to be that now that the OG3 all left, they are no longer a threat to her position as the head honcho in the household.
