Sister Wives: Janelle Says Kody ‘Attacked’ His Exes When They Moved Away

For one of the main cast members, Janelle, the one-on-one episode was an opportunity for her to speak out about her relationship with her ex-husband, Kody. After this season saw them go through some major ups and downs—including a dispute over their land in Arizona that had to be settled in court, as well as the loss of their son, Garrison—Janelle opened up about some of his past problematic behavior.
Janelle Said Kody “Attacked” His Exes At Times
Janelle’s one-on-one special aired on Sunday, June 8th, and in her conversation, she was extremely candid about the issues she and Kody faced, particularly when they were in the process of splitting. Longtime fans of the show will recall that while Kody was once married to four different partners, he now remains legally married to just one, his youngest wife Robyn. The first of his exes decided to part ways late in 2021, and the other two followed suit shortly thereafter.

Madison Brown Brush appeared to want to mend her fractured relationship with Robyn Brown’s children.
Janelle further elaborated on the dynamic for the cameras:
I’m one of those people who wants to be very fiscally responsible and very about, like, ‘Let’s be responsible with our money.’ So, he wants to, like, sort of undermine that or try to undermine that for me.
“It’s wild to me that he was telling everybody that I was in charge,” she went on to add, denying his claims. For her part, Janelle explained to the cameras that, if she had really been in charge of the family finances, she would’ve done things very differently. For starters, she noted, she would’ve paid off their land in Arizona and built a house prior to splitting from him.

The latest episode of Sister Wives continued to speak on Garrison’s tragic passing, with Kody and Janelle deciding to bury him in Wyoming.
Janelle Is Supported By The Other Ex Wives
Janelle isn’t alone in calling Kody out for his false remarks. It seems like while he’s been trying to make his ex-wives appear negatively in the media, the women are speaking out to support one another. Another one of his exes, Meri, noted that there was no way that Janelle could’ve had complete control of the family finances.
Part of the family’s agreement was to share equally in the land they owned in Arizona, a plot known as Coyote Pass. She shared in her own episode that any money that the family had was pooled together for the sake of supporting their children:
I don’t know if they don’t remember, like, when our funds were all together and those family funds that I helped with went to the kids’ college, went to property. It went to everything. We had a family fund.
Kody’s other ex, Christine, also chimed in on the matter. She pointed out that Kody’s comments were purely to put Janelle down, and that she saw right through his antics. “With her, with finances, [Kody was just] knocking her down so she [didn’t] feel smart,” she emphasized. “That’s rude. He knows the buttons to push,” she added.

Sister Wives’ Kody Brown had his one daughter, Mykelti Padron, call him out publicly for not taking “accountability” for his actions.
In the meantime, Janelle seems to have been doing her best to start a new chapter in her life. Since her split with Kody, she’s sold her portion of the Arizona land and moved to North Carolina. Janelle has been vocal about how she’s been chasing a new dream of hers since then: living and working on a farm.
