Sister Wives Star Christine Brown Overjoyed As She Announces Exciting Family News
Sister Wives star Christine Brown is going to be a grandma again. Her oldest daughter Aspyn Thompson announced she is expecting her first child with husband Mitch Thompson.
The 30-year-old revealed her happy news on local TV channel Fox 13 when she appeared on air to promote the Mother’s Day gift offerings at Kendra Scott jewellery store, where she works as the store manager.
During the interview about Mother’s Day, the reporter said: “And how fitting that you have your first little one on the way!” In response, a beaming Aspyn smiled and replied: “I know!”
Aspyn is the eldest child of Christine and her ex-husband Kody Brown. The pair shot to fame after appearing on US reality show Sister Wives, which follows 56-year-old Mormon Kody, who lives a polygamist life.
Since 1990 he has had four wives and 18 children. He was married to Aspyn’s mum Christine for 27 years, from 1994 to 2021. Together they have six children – daughters Aspyn, 30, Mykelti, 28, Gwendlyn, 23, Ysabel, 22 and Truel, 15. They also share a 26-year-old son named Paedon.
Back in 2021, Christine became a grandmother for the first time when daughter Mykelti gave birth to her and husband Antonio’s firstborn, a daughter called Avalon Asa. Just over a year later, the couple welcomed twin sons Archer Banks and Ace McCord.

But Christine and Kody split four years ago, after almost three decades together. The 53-year-old later admitted it was partly down to Kody’s relationship with their kids, or lack of one.
Speaking on the Reality Life with Kate Casey podcast in December 2022, she shared: “It was like a vicious cycle all the time. Because for years, I’d say you know, ‘your Dad loves you’. I would tell my kids that all the time. That he’s going to come over, we’re going to have a great time, blah, blah, blah. And after a while, they just stopped believing me.”
Announcing their split, Christine said in a statement it had been ‘a long time coming’ and said she is enjoying being divorced. She told fans: “Thank you for supporting me with leaving Kody. The decision was a long time coming and I feel like a much better person divorced than I ever did. Life is so great. I had no idea life could be simple.” She has since found love again with David Woolley, who she married in October 2023.
As well as Christine, Kody was married to first wife Meri Brown, 54. This was a legal marriage from 1990 to 2014 and the pair share one son, 29-year-old Leon. Kody later had two ‘spiritual marriages’ to Christine and to Janelle Brown, 55, who he tied the knot with in 1993. Though they split in 2022.
He went on to have another six children with Janelle – Logan 29, Madison, 28, Hunter, 25, Gabriel, 22, and Savanah, 18. Tragically their son Garrison died by suicide at the age of 25. It was later revealed he passed away from a gunshot wound to the head at his home in Arizona.
Kody is now legally married to fourth wife Robyn, who he wed in 2014 after divorcing first wife Meri. They now share five children together. Two of their own – Solomon, 12, and Ariella, eight – plus Robyn’s three kids from a previous relationship, who Kody has adopted, Dayton, Aurora and Breanna.
