‘Sister Wives’ Hunter Brown Breaks Silence About Brother, Garrison With Birthday Tribute

Sister Wives star Hunter Brown honored his late brother, Robert “Garrison” Brown, with a heartfelt birthday tribute one year after his tragic death at 25.
“Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory,” Hunter, 27, wrote via Instagram, referencing a quote from Dr. Seuss on Thursday, April 10. “Remember to spend the time you have with those you love! Happy Birthday to my Boi! Love you, dude!”
In his post, Hunter shared photos from over the years, showing some of his favorite memories.
Hunter and Garrison are two of six kids shared by exes Janelle Brown and Kody Brown. Their siblings also include Logan, 30, Madison, 29, Gabriel, 23, and 20-year-old Savanah.
“I think all Sister Wives fans will always remember him,” one person commented on his social media post. “Beautiful photo of your mom, brothers and sisters laughing,” a second person wrote, while a third sweetly added, “As comfort I can only say, you will never get over it, but time does easy the hurt, pain, longing, heartache. He is always with you just look to the stars.”

The family has rallied together after Garrison was found dead in his home in Flagstaff, Arizona, on March 5, 2024. It was confirmed by the Coconino County Medical Examiner that he died from a gunshot wound to the head and his official manner of death was ruled a suicide. The report notes a contributing factor in his death was ethanol intoxication a.k.a. alcohol poisoning.
Janelle, 55, recently honored her son while opening up about her grief journey on the one-year anniversary of his passing. “I stay busy but in EVERY quiet moment you are first and foremost in my thoughts,” she captioned a March 5 post. “It’s been a year baby. We miss you so much. I miss you so much.”
“I encourage everyone reading this to consider making a donation to your local animal shelter, rescue, or humane society,” Janelle added. “This cause was close to Garrison’s heart — he adopted all three of his cats from shelters.”
Kody, 56, previously spoke out about the loss of his son in a statement soon after Garrison died.

“Janelle and I are deeply saddened to announce the loss of our beautiful boy Robert Garrison Brown,” Kody wrote in his own post via the platform at the time. “He was a bright spot in the lives of all who knew him. Our loss will leave such a big hole in our lives, that it takes our breath away. We ask that you please respect our privacy and join us in honoring his memory.”
Janelle announced her separation from spiritual husband Kody in 2022. She was the second Brown wife to leave after Christine Brown announced she had left Kody. Meri Brown later revealed that she and Kody had also parted ways, leaving Robyn Brown as his sole remaining wife.
Janelle has since relocated to North Carolina, where she purchased a property in March 2024 for $289,000.
It’s listed as agricultural for the company Taeda Farms, LLC.
“Life looks a whole lot different these days, and with that comes a new kind of freedom,” Janelle wrote in February. “For the first time, I’m creating a home that’s completely my own. I can’t wait to see it all come together!”
