Sister Wives: 10 Signs Robyn Brown’s Faking Her Concern About The State Of The Brown Family

Sister Wives season 18 has surprised some viewers who have been keeping track of Robyn Brown’s latest comments, as she seems deeply concerned about the state of her family’s plural marriage. Robyn, who is Kody Brown’s only remaining wife, has been vocal about her interest in trying monogamy after the dissolution of Kody’s marriages to his ex-wives Meri Brown, Janelle Brown, and Christine Brown. As Kody has been picking up the pieces left behind by his separations in Sister Wives season 18, Robyn has been hopeful that he won’t court any new women. In the past, Robyn has been an advocate of plural marriage, so the shift is jarring.

Robyn, who was the last of Kody’s wives to join the family when they were married in 2014, is used to getting what she wants. In the past, Robyn has found herself being called the “favorite” of Kody’s wives. Meri, who was Kody’s first wife, even divorced Kody at Robyn’s request so he could adopt her children from her previous marriage. Whatever Robyn has wanted in the past, Kody has done without much question. Now, many are wondering if Robyn’s been faking an interest in keeping the family together in order to push Kody away from more threatening change.

10 Why Complain If She Wants Kody All To Herself?

Robyn has always been an advocate for her relationship with Kody, speaking about their deep connection and the loving marriage they share throughout the run of Sister Wives. For Robyn, plural marriage has always been part of the package when it comes to her and Kody, as it aligns with their mutual beliefs. It doesn’t make much sense for Robyn, who has always been a staunch believer in plural marriage, to push for monogamy after so vehemently pushing against the breakdown of Kody’s other marriages throughout Sister Wives season 18. Her sudden change in tune makes her seem duplicitous, and weakens her overall argument for monogamy.

9 Robyn Has Bad Blood With Kody’s Exes

Sister Wives' Meri, Janelle and Christine

It’s not exactly a secret that Robyn has had a difficult time in her relationships on Sister Wives, specifically with Christine, Janelle, and Meri. Robyn’s never been quiet about the fact that she feels left out frequently, but now pretends to be deeply concerned about her sister wives. Robyn has been quick to point out Christine’s perceived jealousy of her in the past, has pointedly expressed faux-concern for Meri, and makes it clear that her relationship with Kody is the most important thing in her life, so it doesn’t make sense that she’d be as hurt as she’s pretending to be on Sister Wives season 18 about their family’s breakdown.

8 Robyn Is Out For Herself

Robyn is notably selfish in a way that impacts all of her relationships. As Kody’s wife, she has always expected him to have the deepest level of concern for her and her children, pushing the rest of the Brown family to the side. While Robyn claims she’s simply a part of the family, it’s never been more clear that Robyn makes the decisions behind the scenes. From the Brown family moving to Arizona so that they could follow Robyn’s son to school to the fact that she pushed Kody to divorce Meri so he could formally adopt her children, Robyn looks out for herself before anyone else and always has.

7 Robyn’s Lost That Loving Feeling

Based on some of Robyn’s recent comments, it seems like she’s not as in love with Kody as she was in the past. Though she’s been vocally seeking monogamy with her husband, Robyn seems to be distant from her marriage and looking for something to fulfill her the way Kody used to. It’s possible that her plea for monogamy along with her celebration of plural marriage throughout Sister Wives season 18 is all part of a bigger ruse that Robyn knows won’t truly make her happy, either. At this point, if Robyn is not feeling as loving toward Kody, it’s possible neither solution will truly satisfy her.

6 Robyn May Have A Financial Motive For Being Fake

Though Robyn pretends to play nice on Sister Wives, most viewers are aware that she’s nowhere near as gentle and kind as she makes it seem. Her motivations may be tremendously selfish, and even financial in nature when it comes to trying to push her decisions onto her family. Robyn trying to keep the family together in order to keep her and Kody’s finances from suffering, as Sister Wives doesn’t function without her sister wives in the picture, and the series funds their current lifestyle. With such a large family to provide for, Robyn may be pushing for plural marriage for financial stability.

5 Robyn Passive Aggressively Hurt Kody’s Exes

Robyn’s never been one to shy away from embarrassing her fellow sister wives, even getting to a point of passive aggression in her behavior. For example, during a barbecue with the rest of the family, Robyn stage whispered to Kody that he should offer Meri a s’more, making it clear that it was her idea rather than Kody’s. The fact that she had to push Kody to be caring toward one of his other wives isn’t new for Robyn. With her genuine lack of interest in Kody’s other relationships shown through her actions, hearing her cry over Kody’s relationships in Sister Wives season 18 has been laughable.

4 She Inflamed Christine Brown’s Jealousy

It’s likely that Robyn is faking her concern over their plural marriage collapsing during Sister Wives season 18, as she used to be perfectly happy making her fellow wives jealous for her own enjoyment. Early on in her time in the Brown family, Robyn purposefully targeted Christine, who was the most recent wife before Robyn married into the family. She even went as far as asking Kody to help pick out her wedding dress, which was against tradition and made Christine incredibly jealous at the time. Robyn’s always found enjoyment in her relationship getting prioritized, which is why it’s funny to see her pretend to care about Kody’s other marriages.

3 Robyn’s “Stolen Purity” Talk Shows The Real Her

In the past, Robyn has spoken about her “stolen purity”, likely in a play to strengthen her bond with Kody. In an earlier season of Sister Wives, Robyn apologized to Kody for not being “pure” for him despite having been in another marriage previously and having several children with her ex-husband, David Jessop. She shared that she felt her purity was “stolen” from her, when in actuality she was simply in another relationship that she felt comfortable being intimate in.

Robyn has used the excuse that her purity was “stolen” as a way to make her seem better than Kody’s other wives in the eyes of God, but throughout Sister Wives season 18 has made it clear that she doesn’t want the other women to leave the family. It’s possible she’s pushing for them to stay so she can always be the “best” in Kody’s eyes. If her fellow sister wives aren’t around for her to compare to, Robyn won’t be the best wife or the favorite, and her sense of self may crumble beyond compare.

2 She Put Down The Other Wives’ Children

In the past, Robyn has openly put down the children in the Brown family that aren’t her own. She’s taken things far, even once sharing a post on social media about her son’s attitude during the family’s move from Las Vegas to Arizona, praising him for being a big help. The other Brown children were suspiciously left off Robyn’s list of compliments, and this isn’t the only time she’s done something quite so shady. Robyn’s bizarre need to be at the top of Kody’s list is difficult to watch, but even harder when she puts her superiority complex onto the 18 children in the Brown family.

1 She’s Seemed So Untrustworthy From The Very Start

Robyn has always been the most untrustworthy of Kody’s wives, stemming from the fact that she came into their relationship in what some feel is a manipulative way. To get Kody to take on another wife after so many years with just Christine, Janelle, and Meri rounding out his family was odd, but on top of that, pushing for Kody adopt her children was rough. Seeing Kody have to spread himself thin because of Robyn and ultimately, watching Robyn manipulate him into choosing her at every juncture proves that she’s not actually supporting her Sister Wives at all, but looking out for herself and impossible to genuinely trust.

Sister Wives airs Sundays at 10 p.m. EDT on TLC.
