“She Was a Liar”: Meri Brown Dishes on Her Deteriorating Friendship With Robyn Brown

Kody Brown and his wives took the world by storm with Sister Wives but since the show began airing back in 2010, Brown has gotten a divorce from all of his wives except for Robyn Brown. Now, his original first wife, Meri Brown, is talking about her former friendship with Robyn. In an exclusive look at the new season of Sister Wives from PEOPLE, Meri is talking to her friend, Jenn Sullivan, about the relationship that she used to have with Robyn and how it has changed after all of the other wives left their family unit.

“There’s so many people that are like she was a fraud, she was a liar, she was manipulating,” Meri told Sullivan and even defended Robyn when Sullivan gave her a “look” about Robyn. Then Sullivan went on to defend Robyn a bit. “I don’t think it was like intentional manipulation,” she said and Meri agreed with her. “I do think that Kody decided that he had this new person that was this new insider with him, and then it just became them against everybody else.” Sullivan went on, saying “She’d act like she was your best friend, and then completely ignore you and hurt your feelings. Like that’s really f—ed up. Like either be an a**hole or don’t.”

Meri did go on to admit that she had a good relationship with Robyn prior to everything happening with Brown. She said that their relationship “was a good one, and I felt very solid in it.” But she went on to say that even though she felt solid, something changed in their dynamic. “We were very close. And then it started, there was a divide,” she adds.

Kody Brown Lost All His Wives But Robyn Brown

Brown was married to his four wives up until 2021. It started with Christine Brown leaving him (she is now married to David Woolley). Then, Janelle Brown got a divorce from Brown in 2022 followed by Meri. The three other women, who were spirtually married to Brown, were all close and had their ups and downs on the show but their issues with their shared husband grew to be too much. When Robyn joined them, Brown legally divorced Meri to make Robyn his wife (so he could adopt her children). So the only one now still married to Brown both spiritually and legally is Robyn.
