Even though the show is dedicated to showing the life of the conservative family only, Olivia continues to be a regular on the show and recently introduced her first boyfriend post-divorce.

Olivia and Ethan Plath were one of the main draws of Welcome to Plathville, for their differing personalities and varied world experiences made for a good reality TV show. But as some relationships have an expiration date, the duo ended up divorcing in October 2023.

Having married young at only 20 years old and raised differently, they often clashed with each other regarding their worldview. While Ethan wanted to remain firm on his values and ‘narrow mindset’. Olivia wanted to explore and grow into her own person.

Post their divorce, Olivia ended up falling out with the rest of the Plath family as well by season 5. Yet, she continues to make appearances on the show and recently revealed her new love, aka first boyfriend after divorce- Brendan, on season 6 of the reality TV show.

Unlike Ethan, who clashed with Olivia on their different opinions and world-view, Olivia gushes that Brendan lets her be herself. Not only is he supportive of her and needs, but he is also physically and verbally affectionate of her and respects their differences, traits that Ethan lacked and was unwilling to develop.

While Olivia Plath continues to get hate and backlash for being on Welcome to Plathville, keeping the family name, and attending Plath family events (see Instagram), she has long moved on from Ethan. During a recent trip to the Bahamas, the reality TV star and her boyfriend ended up getting new tattoos and they are extremely significant for her.

Unlike Ethan, who reluctantly got a matching tattoo with Olivia to help save their failing marriage, Brendan was more than willing and happy to get inked for the sake of his girlfriend. Representing their shared love for adventure, travel, and exploration, the duo got matching wrist tattoos of turtles.

Olivia, during one episode, remarked that her matching tattoos with Ethan and Brendan are equally symbolic. While the one with her now-failed marriage signifies the life she once had and the experiences she garnered, her newest tattoo, on the other hand, signifies the life she wants to lead from now on.

As the reality TV star continues on in her new life, gaining experiences and traveling the world, many believe that her bringing on Brendan to the show and praising him might be her way of subtly dissing her ex-husband. But whatever it may be, fans of the star are happy to see her thriving and enjoying her life after her disastrous marriage.
