Newly Released 911 Call Gives More Details About Death of “90 Day Fiance” Star Chuck Potthast

It’s been just over a month since the death of 90 Day Fiance star Chuck Potthast, and a newly released 911 call made the day he died is shedding a bit more light on how the reality TV star died.

As The Ashley previously reported, Chuck— who is the father of “90 Day” franchise staple Elizabeth Potthast— died on November 9. Elizabeth and other family members announced his death publicly on November 23, but did not disclose his cause of death. (Elizabeth and her sister did, however, deny several media outlets’ claims that Chuck passed away from brain cancer, and threatened to press charges against outlets that did not remove the false information from their stories.)

On Friday, TMZ posted audio of a 911 call made by Chuck’s son in which he reveals that Chuck was found in the bathtub and had been bleeding profusely.

“I need an ambulance to my house immediately,” Chuck’s son tells the 911 operator. “I just found my dad in the bathtub and he’s bleeding everywhere.”

When the 911 operator asks Chuck’s son what happened to Chuck, he says that he has “no clue.” He also tells the operator that Chuck was not awake when he found him.

“To be honest, he doesn’t look alive, ma’am,” he says. “I don’t know what to do. There’s blood everywhere…he’s laying face down in the bathtub.”

Elizabeth and the rest of her family have yet to comment on the information released in the 911 call.

Chuck had been suffering from a variety of health problems, some of which he shared publicly. In 2022, he revealed on 90 Day Diaries that he had battled cancer in 2016, but was officially cancer-free by 2017.

In July, he revealed that he had surgery to remove something that he had feared was a tumor. (It turned out to be a large kidney stone.) Chuck took to Instagram to share his good news, telling fans “I’m so excited that my cancer didn’t come back.”

In September, he shared that he had underwent a lengthy surgery to fix hernias that had developed after some of his cancer-related surgeries, but claimed that all had gone well.

Chuck’s last post to Instagram was made on October 3, where he showed off himself with Liz and the rest of their family on his boat, writing, “Love going out on the boat with the family!”

At the time of his death, Chuck was 64 years old.
