Welcome To Plathville season 5 has explored Moriah Plath’s relationship with her brother Ethan Plath and his estranged wife, Olivia Plath, but when she forgave him in a recent episode, many fans were left confused. Moriah has had Ethan and Olivia’s numbers blocked for months following a stand-off over Moriah’s music. Olivia had released Moriah’s music and, according to Moriah, was withholding the profits until she was paid for the photography she’d done for Moriah’s cover art. When the trio reached a standstill, Moriah cut them off and decided to move on, but things have been progressing on Welcome To Plathville season 5 since then.
In a recent episode of Welcome To Plathville, Moriah and Ethan sat down for the first time since their feud began, and Moriah told Ethan she forgave him. When Ethan rightfully asked her for what, considering her issues were with Olivia, Moriah couldn’t find an answer for him. Fans took to Reddit to discuss the interaction, with SeekNDstroy8314 sharing, “What is there for HER to forgive Ethan for!?!?! The rent money that SHE owes HIM?…His BS accusations that SHE made about Ethan’s Wife stealing from her? What am I missing here??” Most fans agreed with questioning Moriah’s forgiveness.
Moriah’s Welcome To Plathville Season 5 Journey So Far
Throughout Moriah’s time on Welcome To Plathville, viewers have watched her go from a girl to a grown adult. Her personality has shifted in recent years, and unfortunately, it may not be for the better. From discovering that her passion for music was something she wanted to put into practice to the dissolution of her relationship with her ex-boyfriend Max Kallschmidt, Moriah has evolved into a more selfish, more overbearing version of the person she once was. Throughout Welcome To Plathville season 5, Moriah’s self-absorbed behavior has been on full display. She has chosen to air her problems, and it’s made her look bad.

Moriah has looked foolish on Welcome To Plathville as she’s ignored her relationship with her brother to prove a point that no one fully understands. While her issues with Olivia seem valid enough, her problem with Ethan was that he chose to stand by his wife over siding with his petty younger sister. When she offered Ethan her forgiveness, it simply proved that Moriah is still far more immature than she claims to be. Believing that her brother would choose his sister’s petty choices over his wife’s genuine hurt was a mistake on Moriah’s part, and it cost her some valuable time with her brother in her life.
Though Moriah and Ethan did choose to make up, the ground they’re treading on is tentative from both sides. Moriah has decided to allow herself to be upset over Ethan’s choice to be a good husband, and though she says she forgives him, it’s unclear what exactly she felt justified to be angry about in the first place. Moriah has a lot of growing up to do, and though she thinks she’s entirely grown as she continues to navigate the drama of Welcome To Plathville, it’s going to be a rude awakening when she has to deal with a genuine problem in life.
Welcome To Plathville airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. EDT on TLC.
