‘Unexpected’ Star Isabella Leal-Stone’s Mom Tasha’s Criminal History Revealed; Get the Details of Her Aggravated Robbery Charge

In a recent episode, Tasha voiced her anxieties about meeting Bryce Palmer’s family, Isabella’s boyfriend (now fiancé), ahead of their baby’s arrival. Her reasons were far from the usual pre-meeting jitters.

“I’m risking a lot because I’m on probation for theft of property and aggravated robbery,” she confessed. “So, if this meeting goes wrong and goes bad, you know, I’ve got a lot more to lose. It would suck to go back to jail for fighting Bryce’s family. I’m risking everything.”

But what exactly led to Tasha’s probation? According to court documents obtained by Starcasm, the charges stem from a 2014 incident where Tasha “assisted in an armed robbery” that occurred in October 2013.

The details are disturbing. A convenience store employee in east Texas was accosted by an armed robber who demanded his belongings, including his phone and wallet. The robber then allegedly bound the employee with duct tape, covered his head with a bag, and left him in a back room. The employee overheard the robber making a call and sensed the presence of two other individuals in the store.

After waiting for nearly 45 minutes, the victim managed to free himself and, still bound, sought help from his boss’s son. The police were alerted, leading to the apprehension of the robber and their accomplices, one of whom is presumed to be Tasha.

The charges against Tasha were severe: aggravated robbery and aggravated kidnapping. The documents allege that she “intentionally or knowingly abduct[ed] [the store employee] by restraining [his movements] without his consent…by using a deadly weapon, to-wit firearm, during the commission of said offense.”

Furthermore, she is accused of “threatening or plac[ing] [the store employee] in fear of imminent bodily injury or death, and…us[ing] or exhibit[ing] a deadly weapon, to-with firearm” while committing theft.

In August 2016, Tasha pleaded guilty to felony robbery, resulting in a deferred adjudication ruling. This included 10 years of probation, a $1,500 fine, and 400 hours of community service. The aggravated kidnapping charge was dropped. Meanwhile, the main robber received a harsh 40-year prison sentence.

Interestingly, the documents indicate that Tasha’s probation was to run concurrently with a separate sentence for a theft in another county, a sentence that remains undisclosed. Starcasm suggests that the probation Tasha referred to on Unexpected is likely related to the 2016 ruling, considering her initial 10-year term should have concluded in 2024.

The revelation of Tasha’s past adds a complex layer to her role as a supportive grandmother on Unexpected. It also raises questions about her ability to navigate the challenges of her daughter’s young family while under the constraints of her probation.
