Kendra Caldwell Duggar and Joseph Duggar Face Shocking Allegations
In a stunning turn of events, Joseph Duggar of Counting On fame appears to be following a dark path similar to that of his older brother, Josh. Following Joseph’s arrest for allegedly sexually abusing a 9-year-old girl during a family vacation in Florida, law enforcement in Arkansas took action.
The Tontitown Police Department (TTPD) reportedly uncovered additional evidence that led to charges against both Joseph and his wife, Kendra Caldwell Duggar. The nature of these charges has sent shockwaves through their community and beyond.
New Investigation Stemmed from Florida Crime
Authorities have clarified that the charges in Arkansas are separate from Joseph’s case in Florida. However, the TTPD has confirmed that the investigation in Arkansas began immediately after the alleged incident in Florida came to light.
The TTPD has stated that the case remains an active and ongoing investigation. Due to the involvement of young victims, they are unable to release further details at this time. This veil of secrecy has only fueled speculation and concern.
Child Endangerment Allegations Surface
Joseph Duggar, 31, is currently being held at the Washington County Detention Center in connection with the Florida charges. The ongoing investigation could lead to additional charges as more evidence is uncovered. The specific nature of the child endangerment charges has been a subject of intense speculation.
According to Arkansas criminal code, “A person commits the offense of false imprisonment in the second degree if, without consent and without lawful authority, the person knowingly restrains another person to interfere substantially with the other person’s liberty.”
Padlocks on Children’s Doors?
Rumors have swirled regarding the specifics of the child endangerment charges. According to a report by Christian website Protestia, police officers who arrived at the Duggars’ home to arrest Joseph allegedly found padlocks on all the children’s doors. Both charges are classified as Class A misdemeanors, carrying a potential penalty of a fine up to $2,500 and up to a year in jail for each charge.
In addition to these charges, Joseph Duggar is facing 15 years to life in prison for the Florida charges, which include lewd and lascivious behavior involving a victim under 12 years old.
Jill Duggar Speaks Out
Jill Duggar Dillard, who knows firsthand the pain of being violated, has spoken out against her brother Joseph’s alleged actions. She is the first member of the Duggar family to publicly condemn Joseph’s behavior.
Jill was also among the first of the Duggar daughters to speak out about her brother Josh’s molestation of her and her sisters. Josh is currently serving a 12.5-year prison sentence for CSAM.
In a social media post, Jill expressed her support for Joseph’s alleged victim, stating, “We first learned of anything related to his charges yesterday via a text from a friend who messaged us about the recent media reports of Joseph’s arrest and his alleged confession to molesting a juvenile female in 2020.”
“We strongly condemn abuse. We support the rule of law and hope that justice will be achieved,” she continued. “Our hearts go out to the innocent juvenile victim of this unspeakable crime and her family.”
Kendra Out on Bail, Joseph’s Court Date Set
Kendra posted bail of $1270 less than two hours after her arrest. Joseph Duggar is scheduled to appear in Elm Springs District Court on April 29 at 2 p.m. for his Arkansas charges.
