No chance of survivalđ: Jenny Slatten tearfully reveals her ALS diagnosis, leaving fans stunned
Jenny Slatten, 68, is opening up for the first time about her shocking diagnosis â with her husband Sumit Singh by her side
Jenny Slatten has been diagnosed with ALS.

The 90 Day Fiancé star, 68, and her husband Sumit Singh, 38, revealed her diagnosis in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE ahead of their appearance on season 3 of 90 Day: The Last Resort, which premieres June 1.
The couple â who live in India and have been franchise favorites since they first appeared on The Other Way in 2019 â learned of Jennyâs diagnosis in December 2025, one year after she started experiencing symptoms.
Now, Jenny and Sumit are opening up about dealing with the diagnosis, supporting each other and navigating their new reality.
âWeâre doing what we can,â Jenny says.

ALS, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, is a fatal and progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, according to the Mayo Clinic. The condition, also known as Lou Gehrigâs disease, leads to muscle weakness, as well as loss of mobility and speech.
Sumit tells PEOPLE that Jennyâs first symptom appeared in December 2024 when she choked âbadlyâ while drinking water. Soon after, she began to deal with migraines and had trouble swallowing pills.
When Jenny continued to experience difficulty swallowing, she and Sumit assumed it was âsome kind of infection.â After Jenny started taking medication, Sumit says, her health improved slightly.
But eventually, Jenny and Sumit noticed her speech slowing. She began avoiding conversations, and often refused to speak entirely.
âThatâs when we knew something was wrong,â Jenny recalls.

In December 2025, Jenny traveled to New York City for a 90 Day Fiancé holiday party, where her speech was notably slower. After seeing her in an interview, some fans expressed concern for her health. Initially, Sumit tells PEOPLE, he assumed she was exhausted: âI was thinking that maybe ⊠Jenny didnât even sleep.â
But when one commenter suggested that Jenny could have ALS, Sumit says he decided to look into the disease. âAnd then I find out that these symptoms she was having â this is what it looks like,â he tells PEOPLE.
Thatâs when the couple remembered Jennyâs dad had died of ALS more than a decade ago.

Almost immediately after Jenny returned to India, she and Sumit met with several neurologists to seek out an official diagnosis. At first, Sumit says, doctors believed Jenny simply had âa little clotâ in her brain. But a second opinion revealed the truth: Jenny had ALS.
âWe cried and held each other,â Jenny tells PEOPLE of the moment she and Sumit learned her diagnosis, which has left them both âscaredâ for what the future holds.
Luckily, doctors have said the progression of Jennyâs ALS âis slow,â according to Sumit. Now, the couple is exploring possible treatments for the disease, which currently has no cure.

Jenny is also looking into genetic testing to determine if she has the ALS gene in hopes of qualifying for a medication that could potentially slow the progression of the disease. She has also joined online communities to learn more about her condition, as well as new and existing treatments.
âRight now weâre just looking and searching,â Jenny tells PEOPLE. By putting her story out there, she hopes âmaybe somebody will come forward with somethingâ that could help her.
In the meantime, Jenny and Sumit are doing their best to live life to the fullest and will continue to stay in India. She insists she is doing well, despite the shocking diagnosis.
âI donât want to be treated any different,â Jenny asserts. âLetâs just live our life as we have been while we can.â

Jenny and Sumit say they have been each otherâs biggest supporters and believe their love is now stronger than ever.
âHonestly, I never felt this much love, or I can love anyone this much,â Sumit says. âI used to ⊠live for myself. But from [the] last so many years, I feel like doing [things] for someone who you love gives you happiness, I think thatâs what love is. And thatâs why we do things for each other, and thatâs what make each other happy.â
Adds Jenny, âAnd weâre happy that weâre together.â
