Christine’s Shocking Lawsuit – Kody Not Truely’s Legal Father
Sister Wives star Christine Brown filed a lawsuit against Kody Brown over paternity and retro child support for Truely Brown. But that’s not just the tip of the iceberg. As Season 19 of their TLC show gets underway, it also looks like the drama flares up in real-time.
Reports indicate his ex-wife and the mother of six of his children sued him for child support and custody of their 14-year-old daughter. Fans of the reality series are enraged over the information that has suddenly made headlines. They also wonder if this might indicate Season 20 is on the way.
Sister Wives: Truely Brown in the Middle of Christine Brown & Kody Brown Battle
Truely Brown moved out of Arizona and settled in Utah with her mom, Christine Brown. At the time, Christine said she felt it was the right thing to do. Her daughter’s relationship with Kody Brown was good back then. So, to preserve it, she decided a move away was the way to go. Then only increments of visiting her father would keep the relationship good, or so she thought.
The Sister Wives patriarch was furious over Truely moving hundreds of miles away. Christine said at the time, “I knew that I was taking Truely away from her dad. I felt like the best way to preserve Truely’s relationship with Kody was to move her away from him.”
Kody’s take was very different when he got his turn alone in front of the Sister Wives cameras. “For Christine to think that she’s saving my relationship with Truely by taking her away from me and just ‘preserving’ it — that’s such B.S.”
Why is Truely’s Birth Certificate Missing Kody’s Name?
Besides a few fans joking about how Christine Brown is about to cause Kody the loss of another kidney, most give her a thumbs up to go after what’s rightfully hers. But many were shocked to hear Kody is not named on Truely’s birth certificate.
Sister Wives fans comment that they were led to believe Kody was named as the dad on all his kids’ birth certificates. They discussed this a couple of times on the show. So, why is Christine’s youngest daughter Truely without the name Kody Brown on this important legal document?
Some fans suggest this might have to do with the benefits Christine Brown received as a single mother with six kids. If so, they also assume this could open a can of worms.
Sister Wives: Christine Throws the Book at Ex?
Christine Brown, 52, filed the lawsuit on Monday, September 16. She requests the court establish Truely Brown’s paternity as Kody, 55, is not on her birth certificate. Plus, she is looking for child support, including retroactive payments.
This gets even more interesting for the Sister Wives fans as Christine also filed for a domestic relations injunction. While this injunction lists several things, one part may tame the Sister Wives show down a bit. This injunction stops harassment for both parties. It also stops both parties from slinging “demeaning” or “disparaging” words about each other.
Well, that ship already sailed. The awful things they say about each other and to each other become part of the drama that brings the viewers back each season. Sister Wives fans find this development much more interesting than this new season, and many see it as hints that Season 20 of the TLC series is in the works.
