The Brown family dynamic took a turn during the COVID-19 pandemic. Kody, in his attempt to control his wives and children through strict safety rules, inadvertently caused a rift. Family members reacted in various ways, from refusing to speak with him to outright defiance. While I was pleased to see the family standing up to Kody, I was even more delighted when Christine decided to leave him for good, prioritizing her own happiness and urging her Sister Wives, Meri, and Janelle, to do the same.
The Show’s Spark Has Dimmed
If you ask me, Sister Wives hasn’t been what it was back in 2010. The newer seasons aren’t as entertaining, mainly because everyone in the family has moved on. Kody and Robyn are living a rather uneventful, monogamous life, occasionally pondering the idea of bringing another wife into their family. It feels like the show is missing its original spark.
Given the booming popularity of reality TV, with endless options available, it might be time for a change on Sister Wives. I truly believe the network should hand the reins to Meri, Janelle, and Christine. They embody the true meaning of Sister Wives and have so much more to offer.
As for Kody and Robyn, perhaps a mini spin-off series, something akin to Seeking Sister Wife, would be a better platform to showcase their journey separately. They seem unsure of their direction, and their presence on Sister Wives is detracting from the overall narrative. In my opinion, they should take time to figure out their future instead of continuing to feature in Sister Wives and repeating the same things.
The Thriving Lives of Janelle, Meri, & Christine
Janelle, Meri, and Christine are living their best lives in 2025. Their stories are fresh, their daily adventures are engaging, and their past revelations still resonate. I’ve always felt that these three women were the true stars of Sister Wives. Recent episodes have only solidified this view. Kody’s former wives are the primary reason many viewers tune in, and it’s time for the network to recognize this by making them the protagonists.
Kody’s Petty Behavior
While I initially found the TLC show entertaining, it feels like it has overstayed its welcome. Kody’s prolonged handling of the Coyote Pass issue is particularly frustrating. He should allow Meri and Janelle to have their shares of the property; they deserve it. It’s time for him to be fair and allow them to move on.
Kody’s unwillingness to be fair about the Coyote Pass property has led me to believe that he no longer deserves to be on the show. The network shouldn’t provide such a significant platform to someone like Kody, as it might reflect poorly on them.
Recent reports highlight Kody’s penchant for luxury items, like “$1,100 DAVID YURMAN NECKLACE!”, which further alienates his exes Meri and Janelle, especially amidst the Coyote Pass dispute. This disparity in lifestyle is hard to ignore.
Moving Kody and Robyn to a spin-off would give Sister Wives a much-needed fresh start, allowing Meri, Janelle, and Christine to shine. It would also provide the network with an opportunity to expand the Sister Wives universe, exploring new and compelling storylines.
