The 90 Day Fiance celeb revealed that her mom had passed away this year, so she mourned the loss and did not celebrate the festival.
The first line of the caption read, “This Thanksgiving feels different.” She called her late mother her biggest supporter, best friend, and safe place. Unfortunately, losing her devastated her. She said she still misses her. Luckily, she embraced motherhood this year, which gave her a strong reason to celebrate happy occasions.
Giving birth to Rue has really reminded Akinyi that she has to be a good new mommy. In deep sorrow, she also felt new life, new joy, new reasons to breathe again. She is grateful for the family she now has with Benjamin. So this year has been full of hard things, as much as the blessings have helped them heal.
Akinyi explained that this Thanksgiving for her meant to hold both the pain of loss and the beauty of new chapters. The TLC star was in disbelief of losing her mother suddenly, but she found a purpose in her child.
