Welcome To Plathville: Lydia’s Hidden Illness Turns Road Trip Into Emotional Breakdown

While sitting in her car and reflecting on the difficult journey, Welcome To Plathville star Lydia shared an emotional story. She explained that they traveled through the night after leaving her father’s house at 9 o’clock, taking a quick 4-hour nap in their car. The drive got very exhausting with petrol stops, snack breaks, and managing the U-Haul. Before things got worse, Lydia admitted that she already felt weak, sore, and extremely exhausted.

Lydia first thought she might have Lyme disease because of her enlarged lymph nodes, bodily aches, and extreme exhaustion. The couple wanted to get to Zac’s sister’s home in Kansas, so she kept driving. Lydia had an emotional breakdown and began crying about 20 hours into the drive. She admitted that her body ached, her back hurt a lot, and she was too tired to go on. The couple was unable to change driving responsibilities or get enough sleep because they had to drive alone. Rather, during the journey, Lydia and Zac called each other to motivate one another almost 60 times.

When Lydia’s symptoms got worse after arriving in Kansas, she went to a walk-in clinic. Her doctors found that she had mononucleosis this whole time. The diagnosis at last made it clear why she was so exhausted during the trip. Lydia and Zac finished the last push to Colorado after having a full day off. After seeing the Colorado border and the Rocky Mountains, Lydia said she started crying again because the difficult move finally seemed worth it.
