This is the shocking reason ‘90 Day Fiancé’ star Patrick Mendes reportedly divorced Thais Ramone and lost custody of his children
Patrick Mendes was drowning in debt long before he filed for divorce from his wife, Thaís — and the numbers are staggering.

Court records show that Patrick was sued by two credit card companies and a bank for more than $141,000 in unpaid debt, all within a nine‑week span in early 2025. The first lawsuit came on February 6, 2025, when American Express claimed he owed $28,621.53 for charges, cash advances, and balance transfers. When Patrick didn’t respond, the court issued a default judgment on September 2 for $28,969.63.
According to Starcasm.net, just four days after the AmEx filing, Truist Bank (Lightstream) sued Patrick over a massive personal loan. At the time of the February filing, he owed $82,684.02, though the documents didn’t specify what the loan was used for. Patrick again failed to respond, and on August 4, the court entered a default judgment totaling $85,188.73 with interest and fees. Then came the third lawsuit: on April 10, 2025, JPMorgan Chase Bank sued him for a credit account he stopped paying in February 2024. The bank had already charged off the account in September 2024 at $30,016.32, and the court entered a default judgment for that full amount on June 25, 2025.
