Lydia Plath is getting candid about waiting to have sex until marriage.
In PEOPLE’s exclusive clip from the Tuesday, May 19 episode of Welcome to Plathville, the 22 year old reflects on how she and her husband, Zac Wyse, decided when to get intimate only after tying the knot in February 2025.
“Zac had told me leading up to the wedding, he was like, ‘When it comes to sex, when it comes to intimacy, I want you to let me know when you’re ready,’” Lydia recalls while chatting with a friend. “He was like, ‘If you want to wait a week, enjoy a week of kissing and making out and warming up to each other before we do anything else.’ He’s like, ‘I’m here to serve you.’”
She adds in the clip, “He just really created a safe place, and no, we didn’t wait a week… I don’t want to disclose what our wedding night was like, but it was so beautiful, so perfect and so God-centered and so, just, honoring.”

In a confessional, she adds, “There’s definitely a side of me that no one has ever seen or I never imagined was there, but it’s for Zac only and it’s awesome.”
Lydia and Zac married at her family’s farm in Georgia on Feb. 22, 2025, two months after their engagement. At the time, Zac told PEOPLE that “the discipline it has taken to save our first kiss for the wedding day is an example of the commitment we have for each other going into our marriage.”
Zac proposed to Lydia in December 2024, less than a month after she publicly revealed their romance on Instagram
Lydia — who appears on the TLC reality series with her parents, Kim and Barry Plath, and her eight siblings — reflected on her relationship in September. “It’s one of those things that it’s hard to describe,” she told PEOPLE. “It’s like, I don’t know, you hear the saying, ‘When you know, you know.’ And I didn’t know if that was real, and I didn’t understand what it meant until I met Zac.”
