During a break from his peanut farming duties, the 20-year-old revealed that he was the one who initiated the split. He explained that he felt the relationship was “moving too fast,” fearing that 22-year-old Kaylynn might pressure him into marriage before he felt ready.

“Just certain thoughts built up to where I felt like I was under too much pressure and I wanted to just be free,” Isaac confessed. “I know [Kaylynn] is a little bit older than me, so she may want to settle down a little sooner than I would have in mind.”

Isaac also attributed the breakup to the turmoil within his family, seemingly referencing his parents, Kim and Barry Plath, divorcing in 2022, as well as the struggles of some of his siblings’ relationships.

“It scared me,” Isaac admitted, highlighting the impact of these experiences on his perspective.

When questioned by producers about whether a specific incident triggered the breakup, Isaac maintained that he doesn’t make rash decisions. He explained that the decision was a gradual realization, and that witnessing Kaylynn’s happiness while knowing his intentions was particularly difficult.

“It wasn’t, like, an instant decision,” he explained. “It was just something that I was thinking about, and that’s one thing that was really hard, was seeing her happy and her not knowing anything is going to happen, you know? Knowing what I was about to do to her just still haunts me to this day, honestly.”

Kaylynn seemed to agree with Isaac’s assessment, telling her friend Kim that Isaac was uncertain about settling down, especially with the possibility of marriage in her future. However, Kaylynn clarified that marriage wasn’t something she wanted immediately.

“It got into his head,” Kaylynn said. “He thought I want to be married in the next, like, year or two and that was not the case.”

She also suggested that external influences played a role in Isaac’s decision, mentioning that his coworkers may have influenced his thinking.

“And then, some of the guys at work kind of got into his head a lot,” she added. “They were like, ‘Are you sure you want to be settled down? Are you sure you’re ready for that?’”

Kaylynn’s friend Kim offered her perspective, suggesting that Isaac’s exposure to relationship failures within his family, including his parents’ divorce and his brother Micah Plath’s difficult relationship with ex-girlfriend Veronica Peters, had instilled a fear of commitment in him.

“… I think that’s put a real big fear on him,” Kim noted. “He’s got to understand you are so far from the type of person Veronica was. Your relationship is not the same as the things that he’s experienced with his family.”

In a surprising revelation, Kaylynn shared that Isaac had reached out to her parents to apologize for hurting her. She explained that this gesture highlighted his internal conflict and confusion.

“He apologized to them, he asked mama and daddy to pray for him and he was like, ‘I’m always going to love your daughter.’” Kaylynn told her friend. “Mama was like, ‘You could tell he’s confused about some stuff.’”

Kaylynn also confirmed that Isaac’s decision came as a surprise, and that she “never saw it coming.” Meanwhile, Isaac revealed that the split has been “killing [him] inside,” and claims he’s having second thoughts.

“I’m just praying for a second chance,” Isaac said, expressing his hope for reconciliation.

Despite Isaac’s remorse, Kaylynn admitted to having “mixed emotions” about the possibility of rekindling their relationship, even though she still loves him.
