Robyn Brown Shaken by the Idea of a Sister Wife’s Return
Robyn Brown has always been a staunch believer in the possibility of their plural family working things out with Kody Brown. However, the idea of welcoming one of Kody’s ex-wives back into the fold is something she hadn’t even considered.
In a sneak peek of the upcoming episode of Sister Wives, a producer poses a thought-provoking question to Robyn, 47: “How would you react if one of the ex-wives wanted to return?”
Visibly surprised, Robyn hesitates before repeating, “Return to the family?” A nervous laugh escapes her as she searches for the right words.
“I mean, like what? Really?” she finally manages, her face conveying a mix of disbelief and discomfort.
After contemplating the potential return of Kody’s exes – Meri Brown, Janelle Brown, and Christine Brown – Robyn becomes emotional, tears welling up in her eyes.
“[This is] so making me sad right now,” she confesses, her voice thick with emotion. “Because you, like, just open[ed] this little portal of hope and I’m just like, I didn’t even think of that. And now I’m just like, what if? And I’m going down that road.”
Struggling to compose herself, Robyn admits, “I can’t. I can’t. I got to move away from that because I’ll fall apart and I can’t be on this set.”
After a moment of reflection, she tells the cameras, “Hope is dangerous sometimes,” hinting that while she longs for a united family, the hypothetical scenario of an ex-wife’s return is too overwhelming to consider.
Robyn’s comments come on the heels of Kody’s announcement earlier in the season that he plans to embark on an apology tour to visit his ex-wives and, ideally, make peace. His journey begins with a visit to Janelle in North Carolina in the upcoming episode.
As Sister Wives viewers are well aware, Kody was married to Meri, 54, Janelle, 56, and Christine, 53, when he began courting Robyn during the show’s first season in 2010. Robyn spiritually married Kody that same year, becoming his fourth wife. In 2014, Kody divorced Meri to legally marry Robyn and adopt her three children from a previous marriage.
Kody and Meri, who share one child, Leon, 30, remained in a spiritual relationship until January 2023, when they announced their separation.
Meri was the last of the exes to leave Kody. Christine, who has six children with Kody, announced their split in 2021 and has since moved on with David Woolley, whom she married in October 2023.
Janelle, who shares six children with Kody, confirmed their separation in December 2022. Sadly, Kody and Janelle’s son Garrison passed away in March 2024 at the young age of 25.
Robyn, who has two children with Kody – Solomon, 14, and Ariella, 9 – remains married to him, and they are currently living a monogamous life together.
