“Sister Wives”’ Madison Brush Reveals How 4th Baby’s Due Date Coincides with Brother Garrison’s Death
On the season 20 episode of the reality series that debuted Sunday, Oct. 12, the 29-year-old daughter of Janelle and Kody Brown revealed that she and husband Caleb Brush were expecting their fourth child together. In the process, she revealed a connection between her baby and her late brother, Garrison.
The episode, filmed before Maddie and Caleb welcomed their daughter Emilia Estelle Brush on March 14, 2025, sees the mom of four share the news with her family members, including half-sister Mykelti and Mykelti’s mom, Christine.
“Maddie’s been saying to me, ‘I think I’m just going to keep it quiet for a while.’ When she said it, I’m like, ‘Okay. I guess we’re doing this,’ ” Janelle said in a confessional filmed after her daughter made the big announcement.
Things got emotional for the family when Maddie revealed that her little one was supposed to arrive on March 4 or March 5. Her brother Garrison, whom Kody shared with Janelle, died by suicide on March 5, 2024.
She revealed the due date, saying, “I feel like that was a Garrison thing.”
Christine was visibly surprised, saying, “Garrison is all, ‘wassup sucka!’ No way.”
“This is exciting, and it’s a surprise. And the baby is due on the day that Garrison passed away. Isn’t that crazy? It’s like full circle. So the idea of Garrison hanging out with one of his nieces, I can’t talk about it. It’s just… Or nephew. It’s good. It’s like full circle for her to have a baby,” Christine shared in a confessional, describing Maddie as being “such a good mom.”
Janelle also weighed in on the due date, saying, “It’s cool because it coincides with Garrison’s death. The date of Garrison’s death, is her due date.”
Although Emilia was supposed to arrive in early March, she came a little later than expected. The mom of four shared a photo of her little one on March 15 on Instagram, captioning it, “Absolutely worth the wait, Miss Emilia Estelle Brush has finally made her grand entrance!
Maddie continued, writing, “Our sweet girl took her time, keeping us all in suspense, but when she decided it was time—she didn’t waste a second. Born on 3/14, she arrived absolutely perfect. We are completely smitten with our newest little love.”
A few days earlier, she paid tribute to Garrison on Instagram with a heartfelt tribute.
Posting several pictures, she wrote, “A whole 365 days without you. Not a day goes by that I don’t miss you, Garrison. In the quiet moments between the noise of life, I think of you often. I hope and pray you’ve found peace, rest, and the comfort that eluded you here. Until we meet again, little brother.”
On Sister Wives, the family dealt with Maddie’s big pregnancy surprise.
“I had no idea that Maddie was pregnant,” Christine said. “That’s how it’s been with all of Maddie’s, though.”
She continued, saying, “When Maddie told us about all of her pregnancies… She doesn’t like show signs that she’s pregnant. She’s not like… If she’s sick, she holds it, you know? If she’s craving weird foods, we don’t know. If she’s like whatever, we don’t know. She doesn’t complain about anything at all. So yeah, we had no idea she was pregnant.”
Mykelti, a mom of three who shares her children with husband Antonio Padron, joked that Maddie was “outnumbering” her, prompting her sister to clarify that the fourth baby was unexpected.

“I’m stoked for her. This is one of the other reasons that I’m happy I’m out here. I get to be out here for Maddie’s babies as well. I’m so excited,” Mykelti said in a confessional alongside Antonio, who described his sister-in-law as being “mad pregnant.”
He continued, saying, “I thought they were done. I was like, kind of excited, like, ‘oh yeah. Pregnancy era that’s done.’ Pops up again.”
When Mykelti asked Antonio if he wanted more children, he quickly said no, revealing, “This is what I’ve learned from Kody: the farther you split yourself, the higher the risk.”
Mykelti also reflected on how the family is dealing with the loss of Garrison, saying, “I think most of my family is… We’re still just grieving. We’re, however, I think moving on as best we can. It’s brought my siblings and I really close. We’re closer than we’ve ever been since we were little, little kids. But I think we’re all just processing it as best we can.”
New episodes of Sister Wives air Sundays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on TLC.
