Kody BrownĀ is making a big decision.
As season 20 ofĀ Sister WivesĀ kicked off on Sunday, Sept. 28, Kody had a candid conversation with his wife,Ā Robyn Brown, about the possibility of becoming polygamists again. The discussion occurred during a restaurant date, where Kody brought up how a relative asked Robyn if they were still in a plural marriage.
At this point, Kodyās marriages toĀ Christine Brown,Ā Meri BrownĀ andĀ Janelle BrownĀ have already imploded. Robyn, whom he spiritually wed in 2010 before legally marrying her in 2014, is now theĀ Special ForcesĀ starās only wife.
āI wasnāt quite sure what to say to him,ā Robyn, 46, admitted. āI didnāt want to speak for you. I feel like if this is still something thatās a part of me, then wouldnāt I live it?ā

Kody, 56, then noted that Robyn had previously āturned down qualified, worthy individuals for marriage because they werenāt going to live plural marriageā prior to meeting him. āIf Iād have been pursuing you and I didnāt have other wives, how would you have treated it?ā he then asked.
āI would have said the same thing to you,ā she confessed.
Because of that, Kody asked if she saw āa valueā in continuing to live as polygamists and if she thought it was beneficial to the āfutureā of their own relationship.
But before her response was even shown, Kody said separately to the cameras: āI donāt know what space Robyn is in, and I donāt know what space weāll be in in two or three years. I almost feel like turning the table and saying, āWell, do you want to get back in plural marriage?’ā
Robyn, in responding, said that if āthere was somebody who was really supportive and really wanted to work and really wanted a relationship with me as well as with you, not just you, and then we had a guarantee that it was going to be OK and it was going to be wonderful and it was going to be what I always dreamed it was supposed to be,ā then she would consider plural marriage again more seriously.
āThat would be something to really, truly consider,ā Robyn said.
āI think you and I share something very special,ā Kody replied. āBut if itās not duplicatable, it could put us at risk. ⦠Thereās something wonderful here. Why would we put that at risk?ā
In agreeing with him on that front, Robyn noted that it wouldnāt be worth the risk unless they had āa guarantee.ā To that, Kody pointed out that there is ānot a guarantee.ā However, Kody also laid out one possible reason to resume polygamy: āThereās something I want maybe more than you do.ā
HeĀ was referring to sexual intimacy. āMy primary motivation, Iām afraid at this state in my life, would be ⦠yeah, just how good looking she is,ā he explained, resulting in a chuckle from his wife. āIām not kidding.ā
āAnd that would be the very worst reason,ā Robyn said, noting that Kody didnāt āunderstand how [he was] coming across.ā
āI know. Iām a guy and I donāt freaking care,ā Kody bluntly stated.
Kody, however, still indicated that sex āwasnāt a good enough reasonā to put their marriage at risk, and Robyn agreed.
āIām getting really honest with you here. Just take the sex out completely,ā Kody then began to share in a confessional. āShe would have to adore Robyn so much that I would never, ever have to worry about whether she was competing with Robyn for my love and affection.ā
Back to their conversation, Kody and Robyn discussed the logistics of it all, especially since theyāre ānot involved in [the] religion anymoreā and it āwould be a requirement.ā
āIām just not interested in having the drama in my life of another woman,ā Kody shared.

āAre you and I enduring our marriage?ā Kody continued. āI mean, we have our bad days, you know. Our murder face comes out, and itās like, āStop that!ā Youāre OK knowing that all the attention I need ā¦ā
Kody then made a jab at his three ex-wives, saying, āThose sister witches of yoursā¦ā But Robyn playfully called him out on that before asking if heād be her ācheerleader,ā to which he said heās ārootingā for her.
āThen, weāre great!ā added Robyn.
Noting that he was ādoneā with polygamy, Kody said that āthe idea of it just breaks my heart.ā
āSo, itās you and me, baby. Monogamy, does it work for you? Will it work for you?ā Kody asked as Robyn answered, āSounds good. ⦠It sounds good, Iām good.ā
And with that, Kody said, āOK, itās a deal,ā before they ended the exchange with a kiss.
