New Episode of ‘Welcome to Plathville’ Shows Plaths Being Petty, Doing Pushups & More at Lydia & Zac Wyse’s Wedding Rehearsal

On this week’s episode of Welcome to Plathville, Lydia Plath and Zac Wyse get one step closer to tying the knot, while Lydia’s siblings find a way to sink to a new low.
In a clip from Tuesday’s episode, fans see Lydia and Zac’s friends and family gather for the couple’s wedding rehearsal, where it’s immediately clear that most of the Plaths are still against the pair’s union.
“Isaac and Ethan appear, I don’t know, it’s like somebody rubbed them the wrong way and I’m trying to just stay focused on whatever Lydia needs me to do,” Lydia’s dad, Barry Plath, says.
Barry— who seems to be one of the only members of Lydia’s family who is excited for her—goes on to explain that, in addition to walking his daughter down the aisle, his role at the rehearsal is to try to “connect” with his daughter and let her know that he’ll “always be here for her.”

“ … I’m proud of her,” Barry says. “It’s her special day, she’s looking great.”
As Barry talks about Lydia’s “special day,” viewers watch as the Plath patriarch walks his daughter down the aisle, where he then tries to keep things light by joking around with Lydia and her husband-to-be.

The clip goes on to show Lydia and Zac nailing down other details for their ceremony, joined by their officiant and surrounded by their wedding party and various family members. The camera then cuts to Lydia’s brother Ethan, who is, for some reason, busting out pushups next to a pickup truck instead of participating in the rehearsal.

As Ethan turns his sister’s wedding rehearsal into an impromptu workout session, we see some of Lydia’s other siblings– as well as her mom, Kim Plath– looking equally thrilled to watch her prepare to tie the knot. Lydia’s brother Isaac confirms as much when he tells viewers that his “whole family feels uncomfortable” about the impending nuptials.

“Nobody is really happy, other than my dad,” he adds, before walking away (rather menacingly) from the event.

Just when we think the Plath antics can’t get any worse, we’re forced to see more of Ethan’s horrific display of pushups, before hearing the least-likely candidate for Brother of the Year attempt to explain why he felt the need to get his workout on, instead of showing his sister and future brother-in-law an iota of respect.
“When me and [my ex-wife] Olivia split, I felt extremely frustrated and restless and depressed,” Ethan claims. “I started doing at least 100 pushups– sometime 200 or 300 pushups– it’s kind of my go-to when I get in a tight spot and I’m frustrated or angry.”

Despite trying to simmer his emotions by tapping into his coping mechanism, Ethan tells his girlfriend that he’s unsure if he can “do this”– “this” presumably referring to acting like a decent human being at Lydia’s wedding. The short-fused Plath sibling then hops into a car, peels out and speeds away from the rehearsal as if he’s just committed a crime.
Meanwhile, Micah Plath’s then-girlfriend Veronica Peters– who very happily joined her boyfriend and Ethan in their attempts to sabotage Zac’s proposal to Lydia just a few episodes ago– calls out Ethan for throwing a hissy fit.

As The Ashley previously told you, it was revealed earlier this year that the Plath siblings kept their terrible behavior rolling into Lydia and Zac’s wedding ceremony, with Isaac and Micah even getting into a physical altercation at the February nuptials that resulted in Micah being hospitalized.
As for the events that took place prior to her engagement, Lydia initially refused to discuss the behavior that Micah and Ethan displayed before Zac popped the question, nor did she address her brothers’ treatment of Zac.
However, she and Zac recently revealed to Access Hollywood that “there’s been reconciliation with pretty much all of them,” claiming that Ethan in particular has apologized for his actions.

“He really, sincerely apologized for a lot of things,” she said. “It was heartfelt and really sweet.”
Lydia also insisted that Ethan no longer had any doubts about Zac.
“He sees that I’m happy and that’s all that matters,” she added.
