However, recently, a tragedy struck a fellow castmate as she talked about her husband’s cancer diagnosis. Previously, Janelle Brown dealt with skin cancer in 2021, but this time, it’s not about her. It’s about Jenn Sullivan and her husband.
Jenn, who is Meri’s best friend and a regular cast member on the show, has been close to Meri for years, especially after her divorce. Recently, Meri went live on Instagram with Jenn during their weekly Fridays with Friends live session. Jenn has been managing Meri’s Heritage Inn in Parowan since Meri’s mother passed away. During the session, she addressed her husband Shawn’s cancer diagnosis. Doctors diagnosed him with Sarcoma, and he has undergone surgery and radiation treatment.

The lump gradually grew, and when they visited the doctors, the doctors believed it was a cyst or a lipoma. After some time, when the lump kept growing, they decided to remove it surgically and get a biopsy done. At that point, they realized it wasn’t a cyst but actually Sarcoma. Soon after, her husband began his radiation treatment.
Doctors initially misdiagnosed him with Angiosarcoma. It was actually Myxoid Liposarcoma. Unfortunately, the bump started to spread, and the doctors had to monitor him carefully. The journey wasn’t easy, and even the doctors missed a lump growing just behind the radiation area. As a result, they performed another surgery.
Fans and family supported them throughout the journey, and the couple even kept Shawn’s condition a secret from their children. They wanted their children to complete the school year without any stress. Meri supported her friend throughout this difficult time, and now Shawn is gradually improving.
