‘Welcome to Plathville’ Star Kim Plath Slams Ex Barry For Not Checking on Her as She Faced Financial Woes From Her 2022 DUI Arrest

Kim Plath is opening up about the consequences of some “bad decisions” she made after separating from husband Barry Plath in 2022, while also calling out her ex for failing to check in on her amid her alleged struggles.

In a preview of Tuesday’s episode of Welcome to Plathville, Kim reflects on the financial situation she found herself in after she and Barry split, telling viewers that while she considers herself “pretty good” at handling her money, “Barry is beyond good with money.”

“He has a career, and I spent 25 years supporting him in his career because I’ve been raising kids for 25 years,” Kim says, before noting how much of a “big adjustment” it’s been for her to handle her own finances on her own.

“Yeah mom, I feel ya on that ‘raising kids’ part…but at least you weren’t volun-told to do that job.”

“There have been disagreements that Barry and I’ve had because I’m hurting financially,” she claims.

As The Ashley previously told you, Kim and Barry announced in June 2022 that they were divorcing after 24 years of marriage and welcoming 10 children. (While the pair have remained separated since 2022, it’s revealed in the Season 7 trailer for ‘Welcome to Plathville’ that Kim and Barry have yet to legally divorce.)

In the clip from Tuesday’s episode, Kim admits to viewers that certain decisions she made immediately after she and Barry separated have also contributed to her money woes– specifically the legal run-in she had in Florida back in 2022.

“Not my finest moment…not that I’ve had many.”

“Early on, after Barry and I separated, I made some bad decisions one night and I ended up getting a DUI,” Kim explains. “Thankfully, I was fine and no one else was involved in the accident and I’ve learned a lot since then. It’s not something that I will ever, ever repeat again.”

While Kim claims to have learned from the 2022 incident– for which she was arrested for DUI as well as property damage and personal injury– she reveals that her “bad decision” also left her with court fees and lawyer fees. She also wasn’t allowed to drive for “a year” or “many months,” was sentenced to community service and was required to undergo “regular testing” to ensure that she wasn’t under the influence.

“It was a lot,” Kim tells viewers. “It was hard. That was a really hard year for me because it happened right as I was kind of starting to get, you know, my new life established. And I just made everything really, really difficult.”

Despite acknowledging that she was the one who “made everything really, really difficult,” Kim admits that she’s still harboring ill feelings towards Barry for not checking in on her during this difficult time.

“Sorry…I just couldn’t manage to squeeze ‘wellness checks with Kim’ in between my two-a-day gym sessions.”

“ … you know what, there was never a time that Barry came to me and said, ‘You know, I see you’re drinking, I see you got DUI. Are you OK, Kim? Are you struggling with stuff? Do you wanna talk?’” Kim claims. “‘Like, I care about you as a person and I’m just wondering, you know, we spend 25 years together. We had 10 kids together. I’m just curious if you’re OK.’

“He never asked,” she claims.
