‘Sister Wives’ Preview: Janelle and Christine Claim Kody ‘Attacked’ Exes Where It ‘Hurt Them the Most’ (Exclusive)
Janelle Brown and Christine Brown still take issue with how ex-husband Kody Brown treated their passions — even after their respective breakups.
Janelle, 56, reveals in Us Weekly’s exclusive sneak peek at part 3 of the Sister Wives: One-on-One special airing on Sunday, June 8, that Kody “attacked all of his wives that are leaving in the area that hurts them the most or that they pride [themselves on] or that they value.”
She points out that in her case, Kody, 56, was “always telling everybody that I was somehow calling the shots on the money” because he knew it would get under her skin.
“I’m one of those people who wants to be very fiscally responsible and very about, like, ‘Let’s be responsible with our money,’” Janelle explains in the clip. “So, he wants to, like, sort of undermine that or try to undermine that for me.”

Janelle, who split from Kody in December 2022 after being in a spiritual union for nearly 30 years, adds, “It’s wild to me that he was telling everybody that I was in charge.”
During season 19 of Sister Wives, fans learned that the Brown family had varying stories as to how their communal money was being spent and saved. Kody claimed that Janelle was in control because she was in charge of recording their spending and sending it to an accountant.
Janelle alleged during a November 2024 episode that if that were true, they would’ve “paid off” and “built a house” on their Coyote Pass property in Arizona well before she left the patriarch.
Meri Brown, who confirmed her split from Kody in January 2023, alleged during a January episode of the TLC series that although she “paid equally” into their Flagstaff land purchase, she was given a smaller plot because she only has one child with Kody, Leon. (Kody is a father of 18 in total.)
“I don’t know if they don’t remember, like, when our funds were all together and those family funds that I helped with went to the kids’ college, went to property,” Meri, 54, explained in the episode. “It went to everything. We had a family fund.”

According to Christine, who broke up with Kody in November 2021, Kody was aware that pointing financial blame at Janelle would be hurtful.
“With her, with finances, [he was] knocking her down so she doesn’t feel smart,” Christine, 53, says in Us‘ exclusive sneak peek. “That’s rude. He knows the buttons to push.”
When it comes to Christine’s own issues with Kody, it was her desire for intimacy that he allegedly exploited.
“For Christine, it was devastating that he wasn’t physically attracted to her,” Janelle says in the clip, which Christine reveals was accurate.
Christine recalls, “With me, it was like, ‘No, we’re not going to be intimate anymore.’ Then he’d be like, ‘Well, you know, you could do this and you could do this’ … and put it all on everybody else.”
She claims, “He knows how to push the buttons, but he doesn’t know how to take accountability for the fact that he just pushed a button.”
When One-on-One host Sukanya Krishnan asks, “So he knows what your weaknesses are?” Christine responds, “Yeah, isn’t that so sad? And he uses them against you. Like, he knew what I crave more than anything would have been, like, an intimate romantic marriage and relationship.”
Episode 3 of the Sister Wives: One-on-One special airs on TLC Sunday, June 8, at 10 p.m. ET.
