90 Day Fiancé star Angela Deem is elated after receiving a surprising message from Rihanna on Instagram. The 56-year-old from Hazlehurst, Georgia, has been a part of the franchise since 2018. Angela’s relationship with her 34-year-old Nigerian partner Michael Ilesanmi is a controversial one not only because of their age gap but also the way she behaves with him. Angela’s temper tantrums are infamous. Apart from screaming and yelling at Michael on the show, Angela has also gotten into fights with her co-stars. Recently, production had to step in when Angela couldn’t stop shouting at Liz Woods on 90 Day: The Last Resort.

The 90 Day Fiancé star shared a screenshot of a conversation between her and Rihanna. Angela recently posted a video of her granddaughter Sid singing the song “The Monster” by Eminem and Rihanna. Angela tagged Rihanna in the caption, saying, “SHE SO CUTE @badgalriri she loves her some RHIANNA” and also shared the video with the singer. Rihanna responded to Angela, saying, “Ahhhh her cute lil accent is too much!!! She is precious! Keep going baby girl!!!”

In the captions, Angela shared that her little granddaughter “teared up with happiness.” Angela has two daughters from her previous relationship before Michael. Their names are Skyla Deem and Scottie Deem.

Both Scottie and Skyla have made appearances in Angela’s 90 Day Fiancé storyline. They have three kids each, which means Angela has six grandkids in total. Angela’s daughter Skyla has often expressed disappointment with Angela and Michael’s relationship. Angela even wanted Skyla to carry her and Michael’s baby in a previous season, but Skyla outright refused to accommodate her mother’s absurd request. Angela’s younger daughter is Scottie, who was sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to multiple counts of child molestation in September 2018. She spent 15 months behind bars and was released in May 2020.

Angela is very close to her grandchildren. It’s great seeing her interactions with them on the show. Rihanna also seems to be a fan of Angela’s sweet relationship with them.
