“$6100 Vintage Rolex!”: Sister Wives’ Kody’s Luxe Wristwatch & Other Timepieces Show His Lavish Lifestyle
The Coyote Pass saga began in 2018, and the land plots that Kody purchased with his four wives (now, Robyn’s his only spouse) represented a sort of Utopian fantasy, whereby the Brown family would live in four separate homes on the same pastoral Arizona land. However, that was just a pipe dream. The problems in the family, sparked by Kody’s passionate love for Robyn, led three wives to flee, with Christine leaving first in November 2021. As Kody redivided the land ahead of its sale, granting Janelle and Meri Brown larger shares, his financial life is an interesting topic.

At Without A Crystal Ball at Instagram, a reporter named Katie Paulson often posts some fascinating research about the Brown family. She covered Robyn’s doll shopping sprees, unveiling an addiction that led Kody’s true love Robyn to spend an alleged 70K on toys, including American Girl dolls. Back in October 2023, she unearthed information about Kody’s Rolex Datejust 16013, which he’s worn onscreen. Kody has a David Yurman signet ring and often pairs it with his Rolex for a shot of style that’s pure GQ. Katie wrote:
Despite the money woes, Kody was seen wearing a $1200 David Yurman ring and a $6100 vintage Rolex Datejust 16013. Rolex made the 1603 between 1977 and 1988. Kody is wearing a blue diamond face, with 18k yellow gold and oyster steel jubilee bracelet. On the used market these vintage watches start at $6100 and can go up to as much as $10,000.
A lot of people collect watches, but it’s more common for elite athletes and Hollywood A-list actors to have this kind of collection, as amassing such expensive wristwatches costs a bundle. Sure, they could all be secondhand, but even used Rolexes cost a fortune. They’re aspirational items – things that are classic and cool, but just not affordable. in Dr. No, James Bond wore a Rolex Submariner, and donned the same brand in Goldfinger and From Russia With Love.
A lot of celebs love Rolex timepieces, including Robert Downey Jr., Jennifer Aniston and Daniel Craig. It’s American style at its finest, and Rolexes can be relatively simple, without a lot of diamonds or two-tone Jubilee bracelets, but they can also be quite flashy. Kody went for a more embellished design, with its colorful blue face and glittering diamonds. It’s clear he’s spent a lot on these watches, unless they’re fakes. Maybe he’s spent too much.
Kody’s Spending Seems Over The Top
Is He A Shopaholic?

He’s got a home valued at over two million bucks, and that ring that was mentioned, and the watches, and a Mercedes C-Class Cabriolet, and Kody’s got a David Yurman amulet necklace. Robyn’s got her army of dolls. What the couple has seems to provoke fans and other members of the Brown family. Gwendlyn Brown has dissed Kody and Robyn at her YouTube channel, mocking their big spending. Paedon Brown and Gabriel Brown have also criticized the duo.
With so many kids and ex-wives in the mix, Kody and Robyn’s lavish lifestyle creates more than debt – it also breeds resentment. In a family dynamic, everyone thinks about fairness. When the balance is off, and things don’t seem really fair, it can trigger so much bad blood. Kody wants a dream life with Robyn, but what about the others? He didn’t even give Savanah Brown, his daughter with Janelle, a Christmas present, saying he’d deliver it to her later. His kids with Robyn got motorbikes that same year.

It’s not the possible financial problems caused by this kind of wild spending that are the real problem here. It’s how those indulgences make other people feel. When Kody and Robyn (who has worn Rolexes too, although she might just wear Kody’s sometimes) flaunt their Hollywood-style excess, it rubs people the wrong way. The other Brown children may wonder why they don’t have the same glam items and fancy homes. Kody’s exes may wonder why they seem to live so well, as Janelle has publicly complained about her money woes.
She used to live in an RV on Coyote Pass, basically squatting on the undeveloped land. This woman seems content with a simple lifestyle, but why is her lifestyle so different than Kody and Robyn’s? She paid into the family too, for decades, going out to work while Robyn stayed home.
Kody Did Something Nice For Janelle & Meri
He Made A Sacrifice
The family was warring over the land, which is causing so much tension in season 19, as seen in the clip above. That may be why Kody softened, giving her a larger share of the proceeds of the Coyote Pass sale. She and Christine each received $375,000.
For Janelle, that kind of money is probably life-changing. It opens up so many possibilities and takes away so much pressure. When Kody decided to do this for his exes, he left Christine out. She’d sold her share of the land back to the family for ten bucks. It would have been nice if he gave her a share too, but that wasn’t to be.
